Call Kerry and ask him to stand up for Americans instead of for Bush
Bush is the bad guy. Kerry sold us out on November 3rd, 2004. He was AWOL on January 6th, 2005. Now he's planning to sell us out, again, to America's worst enemy. Tell him to get a backbone.

Got this from PDA.

Dear Friends,

We have learned that the Kerry/Edwards campaign is preparing to withdraw from the Ohio recount case, which is pending in federal court. This move comes as Federal Judge Carr in Toledo prepares to hold a status conference on August 30 on this case, along with two other pending voting rights cases.

When most others stood aside, PDA stood for voting rights and untainted elections in Ohio and in the halls of Congress. We stood to make sure that every vote counts. We have continued to fight together without slowing down.

Yesterday, Congressman John Conyers, Jr. issued a letter to Senators Kerry and Edwards urging that they not withdraw from this case. Here is a link to the letter:

http://fairnessbybeckerman.blogspot.com/2005/08/congressman-conyers-urges-kerry-and.html

The National Voting Rights Institute and its general counsel John Bonifaz, a PDA National Advisory Board Member, represent 2004 presidential candidates David Cobb and Michael Badnarik in their request for a meaningful recount of the 2004 Ohio presidential vote. During the recount last December, NVRI and its clients documented extensive irregularities in the way county boards of election conducted the recount. This included evidence that the Triad corporation had tampered with voting machines prior to the start of the recount, as well as evidence the county election officials had directly violated rules and procedures so as to avoid a full hand count of the ballots.

In late December, Cobb and Badnarik filed amended counterclaims in this case alleging the recount was not conducted in accordance with basic equal protection and due process guarantees under the US Constitution. At stake in this case today is whether the court will grant the plaintiffs declaratory judgment, setting forth the constitutional standard for how recounts should be conducted in future federal elections. This is a critical precedent to set for any future presidential or congressional election.

Please call/write/email Kerry today urging that he not withdraw and that he join Cobb and Badnarik's amended counterclaims on the way the recount was conducted. To contact Kerry/Edwards campaign office, go to:

http://www.johnkerry.com/contact/

In light of the upcoming August 30 hearing before Judge Carr, time is of the essence. If the proper precedent - of creating a constitutional standard as to how recounts should be conducted in regard to due process guarantees - is set in this case, it will help assure that future elections can and will be held without taint or improper interference. Kerry and Edwards must not back away from this all-important struggle. If they do, they will not only be abandoning all those who stood for them in the campaign and all those who fought for a fair counting of the votes, but they will also be abandoning the fight to make sure that elections in this country do not become the murky purview of corporations whose machines and managers cannot be trusted. Please contact them today and tell them to keep standing for the vote.

In peace and solidarity,

Tim Carpenter

2. Thanks, genius. I keep forgetting it was YOU that
investigated and exposed more government corruption than any lawmaker in modern history.

And all this time I've been giving that sellout Kerry the credit for sticking it out year after year with hardly any help from any other lawmaker.

Genius, did it ever occur to you that this so-called "information" is jumping the gun? Or that the GOP had the machines stripped of any evidence within minutes of the tallies being reported? Or that Kerry and Dean were pursuing another avenue of getting into the machines, via the 2006 campaigns for Sec of State offices all over the country?

12. Dude, the Black Caucus asked him not to be there
AWOL my ass. If you respect Conyers and the Black Caucus, you also need to respect their decision to ask him not to come on Jan 6th so that the attention would be focused on the vote, not him.

And as so many people have said that Kerry has done nothing about vote fraud, then I guess there's nothing to stop. How can you stop doing nothing? Folks have to admit he was doing something, THEN and only then can they demand that he continue doing it!

Of course true, they probably can't discuss the case. After all fraud is one of the toughest things to prove. Not wise to go running around shooting off the mouth about any investigation. I have a feeling Mr Conyers' letter was miscontrued by some.

making sure if there is any truth, that it doesn't happen.

So now, if it doesn't happen, will people think it's because they got that coward Kerry to change his mind? Or will they think that maybe, just maybe, there was only ever a consideration and nothing definite.

I suspect the former.

Yeah, too easy.

Meanwhile, I hate to see people say "You said Kerry was working behind the scenes. YOU said it would all work out."

Kerry can send letters to the Intelligence committee, but can't make them do diddley.

I'm not really into the "working behind the scenes" thing. Folks kind of came up with that as something to hang on to, like with his Nov. 19th video. People saw hidden messages. But I took it literally, and saw him do exactly what he literally said, not what he might have seemed to be saying.

I remember those days. It was like being stuck in a Lassie movie, with our vote stuck down a well.

I'm just a former journalist who wants some corroboration before she bites. Is that so wrong.

or atleast trying! LOL! Heck I posted the Conyers letter on my blog today. What I got from reading it was Conyers heard a rumor (hmmm.... Noise Machine -- but from which side?) and he was double checking.

From what little I have been able to gather, it is not confirmed that Kerry is dropping this and there has been a PERHAPS miscommunication.

Even better PDA uses it as an assualt piece on Kerry. This is why I love being a Democrat. We're so darn helpful to the otherside! WTF?

But rather, DEMs like Kerry,Dean & Hilary- who have media access refuse to talk about it. I know- I know- they have all been "banned" from interview shows or their mics would be cut if they could get on TV. They are busy writing letters- yeah- I know.

Please- enough- we are on the same team- but stop pissing down my neck & telling me its raining.

I'll sit back and wait for Kerry and the others to make a national issue of election fraud and the fraud that got us into a war.

Hopefully, as Bush's approval ratings continue to drop, they will realize that is "safe" and wise strategy to tell the truth about Bush.

The last word is yours if you wish.

I never said anything about banning. Fucked if I know if that's true. I don't work at the networks. So I'm not the pissee in question.

I'm a literalist. Piss is piss. And rain is rain. He says he's gonna deal with something. I don't jump to conclusions about how. I watch to see if he does something, anything, and if he does, I give him kudos.

If I didn't go at this positively, I'd go stark raving mad. I can't control shit. Do you know how much that hurts? I don't take being out of control well. It tends to send me into a crying fit. If I start beating my tits about it all now I'll never stop.

So I do what I can, and try not to get an aneurysm. Which includes not jumping to conclusions.

I have my hand's full in Sensenbrenner's district.

Honestly Dr. Fate, I'm not trying to blow sunshine up your ass. I'm just at a point where I'll take what I can get. If action is promised, and action is delivered, I'll take it. It may not have been the optimal action. But I don't think I've ever promised anything. Because I can't control this shit. So I do what *I* can. I'll write and call these people, but what they do then is out of my hands. So I try not to beat my tits about it.

They'd be concave by now. I can't afford new bras.

I just want the Democratic Party to hang together as much as possible. Near as I can tell, they're the only game in town with any chance of getting us out of this shit. I can't make them change their approach. But I CAN get my own ass in there and see what I can do.

I'd be puking my guts out if I didn't go at this positively. I work at the things I can control myself, or else I'd go nuts.

And I hate to see you say "What's the use." If you start caving into despair, I'll hunt you down and smack you upside the head, you hear!

40. Skin so soft has a hundred uses not related to skin. It's amazing.
I met a guy who said the LAST place he'd put it was on his skin. He used it to get gummy labels up.

There's also a chemical called Diazinon that somebody recommended, but there are pets in the apartment next door so I don't want to make them sick.

It's amazing how something so small can rock your world though. Like little tiny insurgents. We finally found the hole they were coming in an cauked it. I think mice were getting in same way, so maybe I will be able to stop buying the "cheese wedges of death" from Decon.

Thanks though. I'll remember the S-S-S remedy.

43. I'm waiting until I have hard evidence
not fantasies.

I don't think either one deserves that. Edwards is working on poverty issues and Kerry has been fighting hard in the Senate. Not getting much of anywhere, but that's life in the minority.

I'm trying to get in touch with someone in the know. I'll let y'all know if I come up with something.

Until then, I'm not jumping to conclusions. And you know, if I substituted "Dean" or "Clark" for the names "Kerry" and "Edwards" and then proceeded to attribute less than flattering motives to them based on no evidence, I'd immediately be trounced upon. And I'd deserve it, because it would be bullshit. And so it is.

44. So are we going to forgive Kerry if he pulls out of the suit.
He promised he would not conceed in a situation such as happened when he conceeded in 2005. I read Conyers's letter. He wanted Kerry to stand up IN THE SENATE on January 6th. Kerry needs to do the right thing here. I'm tired of his explanations. I want him to show up, not tell us, that he is on the side of the voters.
