Newt Gingrich
He has been opening his pie hole lately.

Is there anybody, in the political public eye, that is more full of themselves?
Seriously. This reptile has an uncanny ability to talk down to those who love to be talk down too. I am sure his followers mistake his puffy talk for intelligence.
What a hot air balloon this used car salesman is!

4. Newt
I think Newt is very dangerous because he is intelligent. Tom DeLay and the like... they dont have the brains Newt does. The country's shit today is all the result of Newt's brain.

8. What's his springboard gonna be?
He's been doing the lecture circuit and thinktank gig for the last 5 years. Has anyone ever tried to make the leap from 8 years of semi-private life to the presidency?

I'm not trying to dismiss your statement. I think you might be right. It's just the guy's got a funky looking resume for a presidential hopeful.

9. the thing you have to really consider is his ...
vanity.

The guy's ego is HUGE. Of course, also fancies himself the smartest boy in class. Sometimes, people can be totally blind when they look in the mirror. I think Newt is like that.

10. There are always
Intellectuals or quasi-intellectuals who run for President. Most usually aren't succesful, but there always there. I don't know exactly what Eisehower was doing after WW2 but I know that he'd never held elected office prior to his presidential terms. Also Nixon lost the Calif. Primary in 66 so he didn't have an elected office when he won the Republican nomination.

12. eh, Nixon
Defeated in 1960, out of office in '61, lost a California gubernatorial bid in '62 then moved to NY, joined a prominent law firm and ran for president in '68 and won.

So something like that has been done. But I really doubt Newt has much of a chance.

And yes, he is an asshole. The sad thing is he seems almost reasonable compared with creeps like Delay and Blunt.

13. Of course Newt doesn't have
Much of a chance. This guy has so much baggage and his name recognition is generally associated with negative things, the only positive he brings is that he is a strong public speaker and is very quick on his feet
