Schwarzenegger’s Rolling Stones Fundraiser Violates MA Ticket Scalping Law
Schwarzenegger’s Rolling Stones Fundraiser Violates Massachusetts Ticket Scalping Law
August 20th, 2005

More heat for the Governator as Massachusetts residents complain about Arhnold’s fundraising event at the Rolling Stones’ Boston concert.

Massachusetts residents want California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to comply with state laws that cap how much can be added to the price of concert tickets and make the block of Rolling Stones tickets he is selling to campaign contributors available to the general public. Schwarzenegger is hosting a political fundraiser for himself in which donors who pay $10,000 get a front and center seat to the concert and those who pay $100,000 get a ticket to join the Governor in a luxury box. Schwarzenegger reportedly received the event tickets from the tour sponsor, Ameriquest, which is embroiled in state investigations into its unfair lending practices.

5. They need to quit bitching and get to prosecuting!
Those 100,000.00 Donors may want to join the prosecution when the Governator pulls no show. Because there are Mass. State Police waiting outside the box with a warrant for his arrest.

6. Mass. Residents. Do you want a chance at these Tickets?
Edited on Sat Aug-20-05 05:12 PM by Wizard777
Report this crime to the Mass Attorney General. Demand an investigation of and prosecution on this crime. Otherwise kiss the tickets Good Bye and know that the Governator will be back to commit more crimes in Mass.

Don't give him shelter on this RAPE! of Mass. Law and the MURDER! of a fair shot at those tickets. Just make him fade away into a Mass. Prison.

7. I would've gotten busted for scalping if I hadn't known what the law was
Edited on Sat Aug-20-05 05:21 PM by rocknation
I bought a ticket (legally) because I didn't know if I was going to get a press pass, but I did get one. Since I only needed beer money, I offered it to someone for 75% of face value, and the long arm of the law came down. I explained that it wasn't scalping unless I sold it for more than twenty per cent or five dollars above its face value. I will NEVER forget the look on that security guard's face! Then I just completed my transaction and went on my way!

8. Just a wild guess..I don't think
Mick Jagger would be too happy with the shovelnator using his fundraiser for tickets to The Stones.

"Sweet Neocon"..

"The track, "Sweet Neo Con," boasts the line, "You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/You call yourself a patriot, well I think you're full of s---," according to the weekly newsmagazine.

"It is direct," singer Mick Jagger was quoted as saying, adding that his collaborator, Keith Richards, was "a bit worried" about a backlash because the guitarist lives in the United States and Jagger does not."

9. Unless The Money Goes To A Charity
I would imagine this is frowned upon in most states. When I worked in the record biz, free tickets to concerts were not to be sold and if caught, you loose your job.

On Edit: here is the email I sent...
Do the Rolling Stones know that a A Sweet Neocon is scalpng tickets to their concert? Lest we not forget this line "You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/You call yourself a patriot, well I think you're full of shit," I hope Mick and Kieth do not let this happen without protest, lest we could say they are hypocrits as well.

Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 09:34 AM by OneTwentyoNine
I hope Olberman latches on to this story. Jesus...if the flaming RW moral crowd had it their way, they would CONTROL the entire recording industry. Only CD's that meet their strict approval would be put on the market--I'm guessing the Stones wouldn't have met the criteria.

BUT WAIT,if big BUCKS can be made for their party(by scalping tickets)then WHAT THE HELL--GO FOR IT!! OK,the Stones sure as hell aren't Pat Boone but we can heh,he overlook that little indiscretion for the larger goal.
