Neal Boortz is an ass!
Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 07:40 AM by Old_Fart
Good God, is it a republican morning on c-span or what? I am going back to bed before I kick my TV in this morning. Rush is a God, give me a damn break! :grr:

1. Sheldon Drobny of AAR is coming up!
Don't go back to bed yet. And yes, Boortz is an incredible ass with a very grating voice. Why would anyone want to hear him 4 hours a day?

a Marxist. Boortz went to Texas A&M and became a lawyer? Defending oil men?

And, believe it or not, there are quite a few sane Aggies here on this board. My Ph.D. will come from A&M, so I guess I qualify.

24. Nothing personal.
Texas A&M and law just isn't a combination that comes immediately to mind.

26. No offense was taken...
Sorry about that, I should have included an appropriate smiley. It is too damned early for me to be serious about much of anything. As a proud member of the liberal faction at A&M, I couldn't agree with you more. Law and A&M in the same sentence just doesn't sound right. Justin, if you are reading this board, no offense to you and colleagues.

16. Yeah,hate radio, not Paul Harvey type of radio.....
Where you just report the facts and let the listeners sort them out. He only loves Rush because it opened the door to every other RW screamer like himself to rake in millions per year.

Oh wait,he's not Republican,he's Libertarian. Funny,he preached to his idiot listeners NOT to vote Libertarian in 04 but to vote for Bush. He knew it was going to be close and didn't want them to "waste their vote"

Bawhahahahah...some Libertarian he is.....

...Rush was even a Rusty-come-lately to "Conservative ranting" talk radio.

Boor-tz doesn't know what he's talking about (and what a newsflash THAT is!)

12. Keep us informed of what Sheldon Drobny says.
Several months ago, he was talking about a "Fourth Estate" project to promote investigative journalism.

Let us know if he mention the "Fourth Estate" project.

32. "Sheldon Drobny"
I fell asleep for a few minutes while Boortz was on and I missed most of Sheldon Drobny. What did he say?

I caught on to a trick that c-span plays. Put a republican on first and the viewers will fall to sleep and miss the democratic point of view. :boring:

35. He thought it was interesting...
that he's a tax guy writing a book about radio and Boortz is a radio guy writing a book about taxes. Pick it up online later. One crazy caller got on to blather about liberals and admitted she watches Rush and Ingram. You can just imagine how well informed she is. :eyes:
Last year I was at Rocky Sullivan's sitting next to someone who seemed to be an AAR big shot and it was Drobny. I hadn't heard of him at that time.

5. I know it's been a bad morning so far on C-Span
I do give mr boortz credit for saying he has no problems with Air America Radio. As a libertarian he says he likes to offend both sides. (How come libertarians, to me anyway, always seem to be conservative?)

I got a laugh out of his saying the federal income tax was conceived by politicians and thus was their tool and used to their advantage.
What/who does he think any tax code will be devised by? His 'reform' of the tax code would be created by and run by the politicians. asshole!

31. The economy from the get-go would GRIND to a halt....
Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 09:22 AM by OneTwentyoNine
35-40% on everything

New house
Older house
New car
Used car
Haircut
Having new carpet laid, tile installed, vinyl flooring--that also includes FULL sales tax on the labor which in many States is not taxable right now.
New roof installed--including 40% tax on labor
Having your car worked on--all parts and labor plus 40% tax

Rebate checks in the millions will be issued to the poorest offsetting the tax somewhat on food, the rest get to pay 40% tax on a loaf of bread.

Of course if you make 5,10 20 $$MILLON per year who gives a rats ass? Once you buy another new house, new car then the MILLIONS per year that they DON'T pay into the long gone tax system starts adding up and adding up.

How the hell could the Government even begin to have a budget when they REALLY don't have a clue as to how much would be coming in to their coffers? The whole thing is a disaster, unless your filthy rich.

19. Since Mrs. Kerry merely took advantage of the tax breaks...
that Bush got for the wealthy, especially his friends, I don't know what they're whining about. Actually, I've noticed that repukes show a lot of "wealth envy" around rich liberals. They actually resent it when liberals make a lot of money (Michael Moore) or when wealthy people turn out to be liberals (George Soros).

29. Yeah,that the profits from the book sales supposedly are going to..
When I'm speaking about millions it isn't from the book, its from what that ultra rich ass will save under HIS Fair Tax plan.

I doubt that he drags down anywhere near the 20+ million per year that Pillboy makes but his salary is substantial,my guess in the 5-10 million range.

So he would go from paying 2-3 million per year in taxes to ZERO. Suppose the National sales tax on a loaf of bread to that fuck will be more than someone trying to scrap by on $15,000 per year? Not hardly, really, really doubt that Neal could eat anymore bread in a year than someone at poverty wages either. Thats the hypocrisy of the Fair Tax plan--its not fair at all.

37. Of course it would make sense for them to have a right-leaning libertarian
on there -- gotta keep the libertarians from jumping ship. How Boortz can even pretend the GOP has anything to do with libertarianism, I don't know. It doesn't matter, though -- his target audience doesn't know the difference, anyway.
