http://www.theday.com/eng/web/news/re.aspx?re=0D91BD52-F591-4D7E-859B-9B2898839A9FIn response to the letter titled “Why are Republicans still supporting Bush?,” published Aug. 18, Republicans still support President George W. Bush for the same reasons we went to the polls and elected him.
It takes a lot of work to overcome 42 years of Democratic control of both House and Senate, but President Bush is working to do just that. He has lowered taxes, not just on the wealthy, but on everyone. He has instituted standardized testing for school students that highlights the failures of public education. Those failures are being turned around finally so that our children will be able to compete with the rest of the world when they are old enough to work.
He righteously went to war on two fronts. No matter what liberals say, it was the right thing to do to stop Saddam Hussein. President Bill Clinton had Bosnia to stop the ethnic cleansing. Bosnia looks like a virus outbreak in comparison to the bloodletting that occurred daily in Iraq. Our deficit is more tied to poor spending practices on the part of Congress than tax relief enacted by our president.
Why do Democrats love Bill Clinton? Soldiers died in Somalia for nothing, and we left with our tail between our legs. Sudan offered to give us Osama bin Laden, but Mr. Clinton didn't want him. He did nothing but raise taxes. Big business created jobs, not Bill Clinton. He enacted environmental laws that restricted the economic building of oil refineries, which is why there is a shortage and a price increase. And, somehow, Democrats love him, and hate Mr. Bush.
When you wake up to smell the coffee, please take your dose of reality pill and get out of your dreamland. Where's that Yellow Elephant web link? I'd love to send this idiot a military enlistment form.
