DUers have given this documentary on the history and use of intelligence on Iraq'a WMDs a mostly positive reviews- some of them VERY positive. I have not yet seen it, but it's said to make Tenet look bad but to make it clear that Bush refused to listen to intelligence that didn't say what he wanted to hear. It's apparently showing part of the Downing Street Minutes' "fixing the intelligence" - and that's got to be good overall.

5. Probably it will be done later by someone else - this was rushed to make

it available. It's not yet available anywhere else that I know of. I figure the adverts can be seen as the price we pay CNN for seeing it, so I don't mind too much. I don't have cable, so I can't see it any other way.

7. Though the recording has advertisements and it isn't optimized to break

between parts at the perfect moment, I was very happy to see this available so quickly and thought some other people would be also. More tightly edited version(s) may well be posted later.

For me, I don't mind the advertisements so much, since I see it as my price to CNN to watch it - I don't have cable, so it's the only way I can.

With this many show airings, CNN is obvioiusly investing heavily in the expectation that many people will watch it and approve of it. They also must be very sure that they won't be Rathered - it must be very tightly corroborated and documented.

I still think they are pinning this more on "fawlty intel" than the real culprit: the Bush* cabal. However, they take a couple of swipes at him.

The points where they show actual footage of these liars saying these things are going to come in handy down the road.

I'm glad they did it, but I don't think the majority of the American sheeple will get it. Sorry. I just doubt most of them are that smart anymore. But if this gets archived for later...so much the better.

Don't think there is anything all that patriotic about CNN finally doing this...just think they are trying to figure out which side of the bread has the butter and hoping this will work out for them in the long road. Doubt they have much interest in reporting the truth, even though they did it here.

This showing - and it will be aired three more times Aug 27! - shows that CNN is aware that many people have begun to question the simple story spun by the White House and the Pentagon about the leadup to the Iraq War. I'm glad that CNN aired this program. My problem with it is that it didn't talk about the PNAC.

If you want a good documentary on the Bush administration and how they and the PNAC are one in the same and how they fixed intelligence, you should go to your local video store and see if they have this.
