I thought Women's rights mattered?

Apparently not to Gerecht (from the American Enterprise Institute who appeared on MTP today.

3. I see he's using the ancient Greek definition of 'Democracy'

That would be a plausible comparison. But it's not.

Voting rights for both sexes are commonly accepted now, as they were not back then, and so, this argument is a farce at best. A complete lie at the worse. I know which way I lean.

And then we think about the horrific life the women in Iraq lead. Look at the "freedom" we've brought these "people". If they're male, that is.

The only real people are male. Don't cha know.

The entire war falls on it's face. The women needed "freedom" much more than the men did, if you think about it, men aren't slaves to women as their women are to men. Virtual slaves, with no freedom to pick another religion that would allow them to live as they choose.

They have no choice. Our nation does not care. Our nation likes it's gender roles in nice, neat categories.

Girls think silly things and wear pastel colors because you KNOW they don't have a serious thought in their heads. Gender toys, gender tools, pink and purple and isn't it pretty? Now shut up and cook dinner.

Girl power, because you know, as a child is the last time you believe you HAVE or should have any power. At all. It's not feminine. Women are not powerful. Or at least...not the pretty ones. Right Rush?

Our nation is not so different. And getting closer all the time. It's on the agenda, it's just a matter of time.

Now go shave your legs. and arms. Or eveyrthing but that very important showy stuff on top of your head. Everything else must go.

Oh the bitter angry things I think, when I look at women around me, too busy playing barbie-doll dress up to worry about where the gas comes from they pump into the suv. Those most successful of women among us, those with money and influence, those who ought to be doing so much more, stepford wives now, stepford wives all. With nice hair and nails, which they pay dearly for, in money, in time, in health (cosmetics are NOT healthy ladies, think lead face paint...), and in the end, in how we look at ourselves.

Women hate war. Neocons hate women. End of story.
