I mean this in all seriousness. Acknowledging that your kid died so that some rich bastards could become much richer would be more than many people could handle. It's much easier to believe that your kid died "spreading freedom."

And the poster who said some of these parents MUST believe their son or daughter died for a "noble cause" - is spot-on true. Spot-on. It IS called denial. To have to face that your precious baby was killed so some chickenhawk and his spoiled, pampered country-club pals could get richer - is probably beyond a weeping mother or sucker-punched father could deal with. To sacrifice their child - for NOTHING. Could any of us imagine anything more sickening? I think I'd want to blow my brains out if that happened to me. It's something I'd have serious trouble facing, and I'd probably be out there with Cindy Sheehan. Or I'd be the next Cindy Sheehan.

There's another aspect to it - shame: shame that you've been had. That you were used. That you were fooled. That you bought the lies. That you went in so open and trusting and full of faith and genuine honesty and sacrifice, and you were USED, ABUSED, and tossed out with the trash. That may even be harder to face - that you were suckered by the criminals in the White House. NO ONE wants to admit that. NO ONE. NO ONE wants to admit he or she has been had. And played. Played for a complete fool. Which is what has happened to these poor people. It would be difficult for me to admit, too. One does have one's pride, after all.

Isn't it staggering to see the magnitude of hurt, sin, and disgrace george w. bush has caused? Its scope is not just nationwide, but worldwide by now. It's actually rather impressive, in a sick, disgusting way. EVERYTHING, and EVERYONE he touches, turns to shit.
