At least some of the CNN and other polls sets a cookie. That cookie can be deleted and you can vote once again but most people won't take the time or trouble to do it so they only vote once.

it registers on all of them. It's the same poll and only allows one vote. So going to every one of them is a waste of time. Pick one and vote to register your vote on all.
