Poll question: Hagel/McCain VS Hillary Clinton/Joe Biden
Just posting this to get a feel of how the pundits influence is workingfor both sides. These are the Candidates getting the "Most Attention" these days.

What do you guys think about this line up for 2008. Although 2006 is the MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION for us Dems...it seems the M$M and Pundits are focusing on these as the "Horses out of the Gate."

What do you all think?

good PR among DLC Dems for trying to get more info out of Bush about John Bolton and John Roberts. Biden gave Strom Thurmond's Eulogy and he's popular in the South with many folks turning out to see him when he goes there (C-Span shows alot of Biden's visits to the South.)

Biden is known to have supposedly tried to get all of Robert's earlier info on his judiciary decisions when he served under Reagan. Biden is looking like a good guy..plus he has that great "Q" factor with the M&M since they have him on almost every week.

Hillary could be viewed as another "Clinton" when times were good and the Stock Market was Roaring. Nostalgia might be a factor there.

BUT...Many who are disillusioned with Bush might just not stomach Hillary and would go for Hagel and McCain. Thinking that "Chimp" sold them "down the river" but their party is still STRONG...despite having a leader like his father who sold them out and sold them down the river.

I don't support any of the above...but think this could be pushed down our throats by the "Powers that Be."

19. Ehhh... he's "so-so" popular in the South, but not as much
as you were boasting.

Honestly, most people down here don't have much of a clue who he is other than he's a "New England liberal" senator.

DISCLAIMER: The love of my life is a New England liberal, so this is no slight on New England liberals. :)

9. Cindy Sheehan and Paul Hackett--in any order!
I'm sick and tired of the war profiteering, global corporate predator news monopolies choosing who we get to vote for!

But I understand that, as long as Bushite corporations Diebold and ES&S are counting the votes with SECRET, PROPRIETARY programming code, we're going to get a "global free piracy" war Democrat, no matter if 90% of the country is fed up with this crap.

Paper ballots, hand-counted at the precinct level (--they do it in Canada in one day, but speed should not even be a consideration, only accuracy and verifiability)

or, at least...

Paper ballot (not "paper trail") backup of all electronic voting, at least a 10% automatic recount, strict security, and NO SECRET, PROPRIETARY PROGRAMMING CODE or PARTISAN OWNERSHIP OF OUR ELECTIONS! (...jeez!).

Get on it, citizens! Second American Revolution! Diebold and ES&S electon theft machines into 'Boston Harbor' (so to speak)! We've got to clean house and start over.

15. I will be voting for the Labor candidate for the Knesset
I rather be in Israel where people do care about democracy than in a country that has gone insane, which is what those choices in your poll really are.

16. We have 3 1/2 years to go. Alot can change but the Pundits already are
pushing some of these candidates in our face. We have a choice. Do we accept them or not. Is it important to think about what "they" push in our face NOW...well it shouldn't be but given that the Media runs the damned show we ought to be watching them.

That's why I keep doing my "silly to some" polls. I'm trying to figure out for myself where they are going and what the folks here who are more or less like me in thought think about what the pundits push.

I don't think I'd like to be in Israel right now...but I guess everything is choice. So much of what happens here has an effect on Israel..don't know how going there would make anyone feel any better.

17. Let us hope that Howard Dean will not allow this to be
shoved down our throats.

the people of the democratic party are against the war. if the people are allowed to choose on the issues, they will not choose hillary/biden.

if it gets shoved down our throats because of the DLC wanting a prowar candidate, I would puke and I think several people will be puking with me.

18. Am I supposed to vote for who I think would win?
Because that would be Hagel/McCain - not because *I* would vote for it, but I'm not so sure I'd vote for the other ticket, either, even though Biden doesn't bother me all that much.

21. No, if those were your only choices who would YOU vote for.
or you could stay home and not vote. It's not a great choice but it might be the "Media's Choice" unless we come up with better.

26. Did you know that the GOP screwed him royal, and he came back for more?
I wonder if it is a repressed need to get banged in the ass , or genuine stupidity?

We all know that Georgie Bu$h is (a little gay); Maybe your friends have a kinky little thing going on and it's all been done in fun. Weekends at the Grove can get a little crazeee.

Not that there is anything wrong with it, it just seems hypocritical when bible George won't own up to what he really would like to do on his vacation.

25. i'll vote mccain over the dlc
but would most liukely go third party

at least with mccain, as disappointing as he's been, you know he'll govern to the left of how he campaigns (especially if he's out from other bush's shadow)

hillary will move to the right once in office.

both hillary and mccain are indistinguishable on most issues

given the choice of moving the rightwing to the left or the leftwing to the right, i favor an overall leftist move

but don't get me wrong-i don't like mccain. it's just that they both suck

go feingold! go dean!
