1. Put the photos somewhere, Photobucket.com maybe, then post the link

2. If you're worried about the bandwidth, you can do this:

Add "nyud.net:8090" to the end of your domain name.

So, say you're posting your images at:

http : // www.mydomain.com /protest/pic1.jpg

It would be:

http: // www.mydomain.com.nyud.net:8090 /protest/pic1.jpg


(without the spacing)

6. It caches the image at that site and doesn't suck up your bandwidth.

It's also a great way to post images you found on another site that don't allow hotlinking.

3. try this ...

the pictures need to be "on the internet" before you can post them on DU ... DU allows you to "point" to a webpage that contains your pictures ...

if you don't have your own website, there are numerous free sites available that host photos ... i use this one ==> www.photoBucket.com ...

once you get your photos there, you can provide a "pointer" in your post on DU ...

e.g. you might include the following in your post:



if you right click on the picture and then click "properties", you'll see an example of a URL you'll need to include to point at your picture ...

4. The photos must be posted on a website. Get a Photobucket account.

It's free. Then, upload your photos to your personal website or to Photobucket and, finally, copy the url address for each picture and paste into your post.

Voila! pictures will appear! :)

11. And if you do not know how to to get the URL address from the

photo, here is how...

Right Click on the photo
A pop box will appear
look at the bottom of the box where it says "Properties"
Left click on properties
Another bow will appear
Look about middle ways down
You will see something like this

Address: http://linkthing.com/screed/FlagI.
(URL)

Copy the http: address and paste on your post.
You can practice on my upside down flag if you like.

On edit, I purposely left off the "gif" in my sample otherwise the flag would have appeared. Thats another point, make sure you copy the entire address, sometimes they can be very long, other wise they will not appear(as in my sample).
