After reading about Fitzgerald's indictments at Holliger, I started doing some research on the links between Iraq war players in the Bush Administration. Here's some added data about Perle, who is also linked to Hollinger: "A veteran Washington insider, Perle has on occasion been accused of being an Israeli agent of influence. It has been reported that while he was working for Jackson, an "FBI summary of a 1970 wiretap recorded Perle discussing classified information with someone in the Israeli embassy." In 1983, after stepping into a Pentagon job in the Reagan administration, Perle came under fire for accepting a $50,000 payment from an Israeli arms manufacturer. He explained that the payment was for work done as a Washington lobbyist before entering government." http://www.sourcewatch.org/wiki.phtml?title=Richard_N._PerleRegarding Feith, we find: "Feith’s private business dealings have also raised eyebrows in Washington. In 1999, his firm Feith & Zell formed an alliance with the Israel-based Zell, Goldberg & Co., which resulted in the creation of the Fandz International Law Group. According to Fandz’s web site, the law group “has recently established a task force dealing with issues and opportunities relating to the recently ended war with Iraq. ... and is assisting regional construction and logistics firms to collaborate with contractors from the United States and other coalition countries in implementing infrastructure and other reconstruction projects in Iraq.” Remarked Washington Post columnist Al Kamen, “Interested parties can reach through its Web site, at www.fandz.com. Fandz.com? Hmmm. Rings a bell. Oh, yes, that was the Web site of the Washington law firm of Feith & Zell, P.C., as in Douglas Feith undersecretary of defense for policy and head of -- what else? -- reconstruction matters in Iraq. It would be impossible indeed to overestimate how perfect ZGC would be in ‘assisting American companies in their relations with the United States government in connection with Iraqi reconstruction projects.’”"

"A vocal advocate of U.S. intervention in the Middle East and for the hard-line policies of the Likud party in Israel, Feith has been involved in or overseen the activities of two controversial Pentagon operations—the Defense Policy Board, whose former head Richard Perle resigned after concerns arose about conflicts of interest between his board duties and business dealings, and the Office of Special Plans (OSP), which allegedly misrepresented intelligence on Iraq to support administration policies. Feith’s office not only housed the Office of Special Plans and other special intelligence operations associated with the Near East and South Asia (NESA) office and the Office of Northern Gulf Affairs but also the office of Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Stephen Cambone, who directed military policy on interrogations of the Guantanamo Bay detainees and then arranged for the transfer of the base’s commanding officer, Maj. General Geoffrey Miller to the Abu Ghraib prison in an effort to extract more information from Iraqi prisoners."

David Wurmser:
"David Wurmser replaced Eric Edelman as Principal Deputy Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs in the Office of Vice President Dick Cheney in early September 2003, after Edelman was named Ambassador to Turkey. <1> (http://www.world-crisis.com/analysis_more/86_0_15_0_M/) <2> (http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/biog/24997.htm)"
Another link to Turkey. Does Sibel Edmonds know?
"Wurmser, a neo-conservative, previously served as a "special assistant" to John R. Bolton at the State Department and was a former research fellow on the Middle East at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI)."
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=David_Wurmser
and:
"On September 4, 2004, the Washington Post reported (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A60497-2004Sep3.html) that FBI counterintelligence investigators had questioned David Wurmser, along with Harold Rhode, Paul Dundes Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith about their involvement in passing classified information to Ahmad Chalabi and/or the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)."
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=David_Wurmser
Evidently Cheney isn't concerned about this, since he promoted Wurmser to work in his office and no one's resigned. It wouldn't be because Cheney himself is involved, would it? It certainly explains why Franklin got a high powered attorney to represent him when he was indicted.
On John Bolton:
""At the Justice Department, Bolton acted as the Department's 'no man' refusing to provide congressional committees documents on Supreme Court nominees William H. Rehnquist, Antonin Scalia and Anthony Kennedy. He also refused to provide information, including his personal notes regarding the Iran-Contra scandal, and aided congressional Republicans who attempted to stop investigations of Contra drug smuggling.""
Boy, does that sound familiar. and
"Bolton was one of the key cheerleaders for the US-led war in Iraq in 2003, and appeared often on CNN and Fox News making the case for the war."
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=John_R._Bolton
No doubt ably helped by his assistant Wurmser, who was busy committing treason by getting the US involved in a war in Iraq and now assists Cheney. Coincidence? I don't think so.
Regarding our pal Cheney:
"A neo-conservative and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Cheney is the former CEO of Halliburton Company, which greatly benefits from contracts with the U.S. government, especially in the war with Iraq <1> (http://www.corpwatch.org/issues/PRT.jsp?articleid=6008). Cheney has ties to the Carlyle Group, is a former Senior Fellow with the American Enterprise Institute <2> (http://www.defenselink.mil/specials/secdef_histories/bios/cheney.htm), served on the Advisory Board of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), and has been linked to the Project for the New American Century (PNAC)."
So we know he's associated with the Axis of Evil (AEI, PNAC, JINSA). But Cheney doesn't know when to quit:
"Mr. Cheney is still drawing a $1,000,000 per year paycheck from Halliburton while serving as the Vice President. <3> (http://inthesetimes.com/comments.php?id=138_0_1_0_C) <4> (http://www.truthout.org/docs_03/091803B.shtml).
He evidently sees no conflict of interest between taking this paycheck, and participating in White House decisions that have allocated billions of dollars of bids to Halliburton that have not gone to open tender."
But let's not forget the evidence of Cheney's prior planning, so illustrated by the careful placement of his treasonous cronies in important policy positions:
"championed Donald Rumsfeld for Defense Secretary "insisted, over fierce objections by Secretary of State Colin L. Powell, on placing Paul Wolfowitz in the number two position at the Pentagon" "insisted, again over Powell's misgivings, on making ultra-unilateralist John Bolton, then vice-president of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), undersecretary of state for arms control and international security. "reportedly played a key role in the appointment of another controversial neo-conservative, Elliott Abrams, to head the Middle East office on the National Security Council." "reportedly visited the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) several times in the run-up to the war in Iraq, in what was seen as pressure on CIA analysts to take a darker view of Saddam Hussein's alleged ties to al Qaeda and weapons of mass destruction.""
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Dick_Cheney
And even more evidence that Cheney planned the whole thing, take a look at this excellent article on the Office of Special Plans:
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Office_of_Special_Plans
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Iran-Contra_II
And if the White House weren't intimately involved in manuevering all the players into an Iraq invasion, then why form the White House Iraq Group?
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=White_House_Iraq_Group
Other bits of interesting stuff:
"Beginning in December 2001, Franklin and Harold Rhode (Douglas Feith's top specialist on the Middle East) held secret meetings in Rome, and "subsequently in Paris," with Iran/Contra arms dealer Manucher Ghorbanifar. These meetings were arranged by longtime Republican operative Michael Ledeen. "The Paris meeting was not approved by Pentagon officials.""
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Iran-Contra_II
Was the meeting really not approved, or just merely inconvenient to confirm in light of the blowback over Iraq? I also wonder what these players needed to meet with an arms dealer for. That implies some below the table supplying of some faction who will use those arms for reasons the American public shouldn't know about. Terrorists, perhaps? Iran?
A small peek at the credentials of Michael Ledeen - another player at the American Enterprise Institute and JINSA - gives us a good idea of what's going on:
"Ledeen's daughter is Simone Ledeen, who went to work for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq in October 2004 and ended up in a position of considerable responsibility."
and
"A fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, Ledeen holds a Ph.D. in History and Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin. He is a former employee of the Pentagon, the State Department and the National Security Council. As a consultant working with NSC head Robert McFarlane, he was involved in the transfer of arms to Iran during the Iran-Contra affair -- an adventure that he documented in the book Perilous Statecraft: An Insider's Account of the Iran-Contra Affair. His most influential book is last year's The War Against the Terror Masters: Why It Happened. Where We Are Now. How We'll Win.
"Ledeen's ideas are repeated daily by such figures as Richard Cheney, Donald H. Rumsfeld and Paul Dundes Wolfowitz. His views virtually define the stark departure from American foreign policy philosophy that existed before the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001. He basically believes that violence in the service of the spread of democracy is America's manifest destiny. Consequently, he has become the philosophical legitimator of the American occupation of Iraq."

The use of arms might be similar to Iran-Contra:
"The Iran Arms Sales
What we now know as the Iran arms sales, or the Iran initiative, was actually a series of related but distinct events that began in the summer of 1985 and continued through 1986. Israel sent U.S.-supplied weapons to Iran on three occasions in 1985. These shipments took place with U.S. approval, and, in one instance, with U.S. participation. They led to the release in September 1985 of one American held hostage in Lebanon. The United States delivered missiles and missile parts to Iran on five occasions in 1986, after President Reagan signed an intelligence ``Finding'' authorizing such shipments. These 1986 shipments led to the release of two more U.S. hostages, though terrorists seized two additional Americans in September 1986.
The first shipment of U.S.-made weapons from Israel to Iran took place August 20, 1985. But discussion and debate within the U.S. Government as to the desirability of arms sales to Iran had been going on for months at the time of the first Israeli shipment."
http://www.fas.org/irp/offdocs/walsh/part_i.htm
Our players want something from Iran, so they supply arms to get it. In addition, they plot to invade Iran as the next step in their agenda. Guess who those arms would be used against?
And let's not overlook the overwelmingly motivating factor of money:
"Writing in 2003 for Foreign Policy In Focus, Conn Hallinan said that less than one year before the U.S. presidential election, 2004: <24> (http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22Limited+Service%27%27+Corporation&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t&fl=0&x=wrt) "According to the Center for Political Integrity, nine out of 30 past and present members of the influential Defense Policy Board, had ties to defense firms with $76 billion in DOD contracts. "The list is a veritable 'who's who' in the Bush Administration: ... "Representing Northup Grumman is White House Chief of Staff, I. Lewis Libby, (consultant); Under Secretary of Defense Douglas Feith (legal client); Deputy Sec. Of Defense Paul Wolfowitz (consultant); Air Force Secretary James G. Roche (former president), and Air Force Assistant Secretary Nelson Gibbs (comptroller).""

Nice bunch of guys we've got running our country. Not only are they megalomaniacs out to rule the world, but they're not adverse to using conflict of interest (and worse) to line their pockets.
Our players have been scattering since Fitzgerald's appointment, no doubt to protect the mastermind Cheney, still weaving his treasonous web over at the White House. Nor do I believe Bush is the innocent chump, since his own father was involved in Gulf War I, Carlyle, and oil.
They've become so drunk with power that they're unable to see their actions in light of the catastrophic damage they have done to United States interests. Or, they just don't care. Either way, prison seems too good for them.
