Chavez can kill our economy with an embargo...
oil will skyrocket. Then Robertson will be the marked man. Everyone with an SUV will turn on his dumb, ignorant greedy ass. If it wouldn't hurt the working poor i'd almost pray for a Venezuelan embargo.

3. That would be enough to increase gas prices even more than the $3 gallon
it is now.

5. The oil companies would use it as an excuse to
greatly increase the price. Think how often prices go up before there is a shortage, just because the shortage is anticipated.

10. And most of the ground transportation industry would go on strike,
hurting retailers and others, etc.

I see it coming; I remember the early '70s when it happened.

7. US. creates the most pollution and uses the most fuel, if your country
produced OIL, and said country was out to overthrow or as Robertson suggests that someone assassinate him?---what would you think, I'd say fuck you and your long line of SUV'S!!!

Bush's problems is that he hasn't a clue what the word diplomacy could possibly mean!

8. No. Nor can we kill his with a boycott.
If Venezuela doesn't sell the US oil, we buy it from someone else. If the US refuses to buy Venezuelan oil, they sell it elsewhere.

Oil sells in a global market. Tankers carry it across the world's oceans. Obviously, all other things being equal, the market naturally tries to minimize transportation costs. And it is those transportation costs that account for the difference between oil prices in London, New York, etc. But that's a small part of the energy picture, the difference between $64/bbl and $64.50/bbl.

Now, the US could kill the Venezuelan economy with a true embargo, where we prevent it from exporting ANYWHERE. But (a) that is an act of war, and (b) that would raise WORLD prices for oil, and piss off many other consumer nations.

Only China can do that!:eyes:

Especially if they live in my home town.
