The BBC went over Chavez's policies. Noting that 83% of the country lives in poverty.
5% of the people own 80% of the land.
Chavez is helping the poor.

countries. Even Friedman likes his ideas. So too all the intellectuals in the third world. It is about creating capital for the poor. You cannot have a market unless people own something to begin with so they can get a loan to send a kid to school or buy a computer or a car. They need assets.
Chavez is in fact doing good for the market.
