1. Coburn and Martinez are '08...
But Bob Casey's looking better and better in Pennsylvania. As soon as the Ohio Dem's figure out who the hell they're going to run (WELL? WE'RE WAITING!), DeWine should be in trouble too.

3. Actually there not
Up til 2010. I'm almost certain either Paul Hackett or Tim Ryan will run in Ohio and both are top flight candidates

4. Goddamn. Was it just 2004 that my backward state...
put Martinez in? It seems like forever ago now. I stand corrected.

As for Ohio, I'm aware of the two candidates, but neither has officially declared, unless I'm mistaken.
Which isn't such a bad thing -- there's several other states where this is true -- but with DeWine as vulnerable as he is, I'd like Ohio to take charge early.

5. Your right.

Neither has formally declared, maybe I'm just overconfident but I really believe one of the two will run. If you've read Schumer's e-mail he points out Ohio as one of the states that will be targeted.

6. Like I said, there's lots of other places where this is true..
And some of them, I have no clue who will run. Who will the GOP run against Kohl? Who will we run against Lugar? Who will the GOP run against Feinstein? Who will we run against Allen?

And so on.

7. Difference being
Unless Mark Warner in VA runs all of those Senators are considered safe. Ohio is considered a pickup opporunity even before anyone announces, granted if Ryan and Hakcett both pass on this race that could change, but I think Feinstein, Lugar, Kohl and probably Allen are all considered safe no matter who runs.

8. Generally, yes.
The sad part is, if Warner would run for Senate from Virginia instead of insisting on the White House, we'd have a chance to take over the Senate in 06. We'd need to defend all of our seats, plus take over Montana, Rhode Island, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and either Missouri or Tennessee, but it could be done.
