... is that some dark night, I might walk into my kitchen -- step on George W., who's crawling over the tiles -- and gross myself out. (I live in a basement suite in the Northwest, and slugs frequently ooze in under the door.)

I assume that Georgie wouldn't go "squish" (though I haven't seen much evidence of a backbone on him!) -- but it would be a pretty unpleasant sight. Plus, he would probably get into my bottle of homemade lemon liqueur, and I'd have to lock him in the bathroom until he sobered up.
