More liberal bashing on MSNBC, "Help Mom there's a liberal under my bed"
THis is why I just can't watch the news anymore. Every time I turn it on I am more and more disgusted.

I Ron Reagan Jr is such a liberal; Why doenst he cut down the author of this book when she claims that "Hard work is a conservative value"? It's apparent that there are plenty of people in this country that work hard and do not get ahead.

This so called "work ethic" is one of the more dangerous lies told in this country today. I find it rather ironic that those that further this falsehood are the laziest pieces of shit on the planet. I venture to question how many of them work as hotel maids by day and Wal Mart employees by night.

Where does conservatism say that these people should be rewarded. I guess when you are addicted to trickle down economics, the providers of production arent obligated to paying taxes or employees the wages they rightfully deserve. God forbid we ever pose and address that question.

This is another argument that Liberals should not play defensive against and could easily club conservatives over the head with. It's another one of the "Leave It To Beaver" faux American realities. The graveyard of history is littered with average citizens who worked hard and never got ahead.

Hard work only exists as a value when it pays what it's worth. THese days especially, a man with his hands in his pockets poses a bigger threat to the establishment than one with his hands on a shovel.

1. We're still feeding .....
...our kids the old 'conservative' idea that if you work hard you make it. If you don't make it, you didn't work hard enough.
It's a load of crap - because the opportunities that were once present in order to lend legitimacy to that statement just aren't there any more.

3. Which is something we need to address...
be it revitalizing national strikes and boycotts.

Also, calling democrats and liberals to task for running from the challenges this question poses. THe value of hard work is no longer a commidity in America. Some would argue that it never was!!!!

It seems to be the elephant in the middle of the road that everyone ignores.

2. Plays To The "Greed Factor"
A prime tenet of being a Repugnican is being selfish. This means being filthy rich, privilidged, exempted and able to cheat or get break rules and be rewarded for it. They disdain those who play by the rules and have contempt for those who attempt to throw reality in their face by showing how they're being used by their rich puppetmasters.

4. Somtimes I look at the democrats
and wonder if they believe the same things.

The biggest pock mark on this party has been the approval of NAFTA, WTO and the few who voted for CAFTA. Also throw CLinton's welfare reform that gave tax breaks to those who hire ex welfare recipients at minimum wage.

Something needs to change in this party as well. It has its share of greedy pigs as well. What seperates us from the right wing republicans is that we are willing to call them to task. In this regard we should stop focusing on what they do and focus on what we do as well.

5. Reminds me of that asinine bumper sticker, "Annoy a liberal...
work hard and be happy."

They've got nerve continuing to push that crap when the leader of their party is the biggest slacker around. Where are the liberals to refute conservative lies?

I can't watch cable news anymore either. I rarely even tune in for Countdown. The only must-see TV in our house is the Daily Show.

6. I think Ron Reagan Jr........
makes a poor representative on this issue. His version of hard work in life is very different than yours and mine. I doubt he ever had a day worrying about putting food on the table or paying the rent. These are just basic concerns that are major concerns for millions of people who work hard.

It seems that hard work doesnt pay the basic necesities these days.

THen again, Im not into the stupidity of what poses today for news.
