What to do if BushCo won't go & elected officials do nothing.

We need to do some serious research on what we, as citizens, can do if the legislature won't do their job to restrain BushCo. It's obvious that a bunch of crooks are running the show. It's also obvious that our elected officials in Washington have no intentions of doing anything about it.

Do we, as citizens, have any options? Can we convene a Grand Jury on our own to investigate things? Can we reverse some of Bush's decisions (especially regarding war profiteering)? Can we force BushCo to pay back money they've looted in the Iraq war? Can we force political apointees out of office that Bush puts in during recess because Congress won't approve them?

Washington has run amuk. What options do we, as citizens, have to force them to listen to our wishes when they're determined to ignore us? Do we have any power at all to counter them, except the vote?

I know we have elections coming up in 2006, but must we wait for that if what they're doing is really egregious?

"What if they refuse to leave in January 2009?"

I think it's a real possibility.

3. If it gets THAT bad...

...then I'll take Thomas Jefferson's advice.

He said: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." He was of the opinion that revolution was required from time to time to keep the government in line.

If Bush refuses the accept the will of the people and LEAVE when his time is up, then I anticipate revolution will be at his door.

(And yes, I was thinking of 2009 when I wrote that, as well.)

8. Whether or not Bush himself ...

...leaves office in 2009 isn't the relevant question when weighing the necessity of a revolution. It's whether we can somehow wrest the ballot box from the hands of the corporate Republifascists, Diebold, ES&S, Triad and the rest. For this to happen working within the system the Republifascist controlled House and Senate must pass substantive election reform to insure fair and honest elections. I suppose it could happen, and I suppose a purple, polka-dotted duck could come waddling out of my ass too, but I kinda doubt it. A revolution will be required.

4. Civil suits?

We have a lot of folk with money who despise BushCo. Perhaps we can bury them in civil suits regarding their abuse of the public trust. Target them to judicial districts where the judges aren't bought off and or anticipating Supreme Court nominations from der Fuerer. We can cost the BushCo boys a pretty penny in legal costs if we gang up on them.

The DLC will roll over for anything. Rethugs + DLC and they can probably pass constitutional amendments.

that needs discusssion. The court system does not seem capable of applying justice...just look at the 2000 election. Watergate and Nixon are the standards people seem to use when discussing impeachment, but we've passed that bar a long time ago. The power that our government has given itself, especially since 9/11 is a huge roadblock, as well as the secrecy by which they operate. We may be at this for a very long time.

9. Well I didn't think that he'd leave in 2004 --

and unfortunately I was correct-- because he stole the election. It was really very easy -- a few votes here and there in key states quickly add up to a few million.

But I was hoping that enough Democrats could overwhelm the cheats. I was wrong about that.

My fear was that he would lose the election and then not leave -- and it is a real possibility -- IF IF IF IF IF IF -- the votes are correct in 2006 (to clean out the House) and in 2008.
