Hannity has Melanie Morgan & Arianna on DU was brought up

Just got home. Melanie Morgan claimed that people from democratic underground sent her death threats and planned to get a private detective to investigate her. Arianna challenged her on her statements and told her to forward her the emails and she would display them prominently on her blog. Morgan said she deleted the emails but they are on the du site.

Hannity challenged both Begala (who was on earlier) and Arianna to explain why Bush lied when John Kerry said the same things. Actually with Begala, Hannity read him quotes saying they were from Bush and Begala said he wasn't familiar with them. Then he told Begala that those were quotes from Kerry. Begala said Bush lied to Kerry as he lied to everyone. Of course Hannity made fun of that. With Arianna it didn't go that far since Hannity just had to state that Saddam gassed his own people and Arianna countered with "and how long ago was that Sean?"

Morgan and Arianna were guests to discuss Cindy Sheehan who of course he's trashing by quoting Cindy with statements she allegedly made. Arianna refused to be dragged into it. She said she wasn't going to allow him to distract from Cindy's message. 'Filth spewer" "greatest terrorists" were some of the statements he kept haranguing her on.

Morgan is sickening. She's talking about her "You don't speak for me Cindy" bus tour to Crawford and said she's expecting "hundreds if not thousands" who will be congregating at the Community House in Crawford.

Morgan is claiming only they are supporting the troops. We are the hard left, the Michael Moore's, and the moveon.orgs and aren't patriotic of course.

Both Begala and Arianna were great, making excellent points about the lies that led us into war. Arianna was especially wonderful in her support of Cindy.

ps: I hope they don't crash in at the Crawford Peace House (pretending to be part of Cindy's supporters) to eat their food.

If we were aware of anyone posting a death threat on this website, we would remove it and deal with the person responsible. We get 20,000+ messages posted here every day, so I suppose it is possible that we missed something. Still, I just searched *all* of the alerts sent since June 15, 2005, and I didn't find any death threats against Melanie Morgan.

The fact that she deleted her email messages with the death threats is pretty convenient. Even if she had the emails, keep in mind that it wouldn't be very hard for some jerk to send a fake email and claim to be from Democratic Underground. Here at DU we get a few death threats in our email every week, so I know how common they can be. There are a lot of kooks in the world, and Ms. Morgan is more of a public figure than I am, so I have no doubt she does get her share of inappropriate email.

I would like to know where Ms. Morgan has seen these alleged death threats on our website. If anyone is aware of any such postings on DU, please click alert on the post to let the mods know about it.

There were a few threads last week where we tried to dig up a little dirt on her. Just a bunch of stuff dug up via a simple Google search. We found out that she's a recovering gambling addict who used to haul her infant child to the casinos. Nice.

The stuff that was posted about her here was much kinder than the venom and hate she spews in larger forums than this (i.e. radio, TV, etc.). but if she did go to the trouble to delete the messages a second time then they would still be on her HD. I know, my husband's computer crashed and I managed to recover his old e-mail files, even some he had deleted.

Anyway, if she had really been threatened she should turn her computer over to federal authorities and let them recover any and all the e-mails that have been deleted, especially those that pertain to her smearing/attacking Cindy and her connections to a certain GOP PR firm and more than likely the GOP itself.
