I heard echoes of the "Gulf of Tonkin Resolution" in the Iraq War Resolution.

Now, flashbacks to Vietnam again:

Nixon orders secret bombing raids of Cambodia in March 1969.

In April of 1970, he ordered troops into Cambodia, which was a catalyst for massive college and university demonstrations, ultimately leading to the Kent State shootings.

One last invasion before the draw down...Laos in 1971.

Sooo, we are now having military operations at the Syria/Iraq border.

I have to wonder how far we are venturing into the sovereign territory of Syria.

And, when all of us, here, are distracted by this chain of events, will that be when the invasion of Iran begins?

Tinfoil hat firmly in place...:tinfoilhat: MKJ

2. LOL, well, I would have thought so, except that we are currently
teetering on the Syrian border.

So, I guess whoever gets invaded next, will be given the dubious honor of the title: The Iraq War Cambodia. MKJ

4. Tom Clash is probably right....although
...there has been suspicion that the US has been running covert ops into both nations. But I tend to see Iran as Cambodia & Syria as Laos.

At this point, who can really tell what the neo-thugs are going to do next. They are out of control imperialist who view the world as their oyster.

They respect no one.

They fear no one.

They are dangerous.

5. Syria certainly could be the next Cambodia......
and I am sure that what Bush might be banking on.

Remember, he didn't go to Vietnam, so he may have no clue that his messed up decisions may just revisit some history that we would rather leave in the past.
