LOL-- Freepers Hate Army Generals!!! (But Looove the ChickenChimp.)
They HATE people who've had stellar military careers -- if they criticize their beloved ChickenChimp, that is...

The link was posted on another thread. I don't usually take interest in what they say, but this is so funny I thought I'd share a few excerpts, from those who "support the troops" and are soooo "pro-military:"

*****

"How many Generals does it take to screw in a light bulb?"

On McCaffrey: "What did he accomplish?"

"They are all retired Clinton-era Military guys? Oh, this should be rather amusing..."

"Point is, none of these Generals who plan to appear on MTP, are smart enough to screw in the lightbulb. Each one of them are out of the loop. They're nothing more than "armchair Generals"."

"These guys are all retired. Why couldn't they retire gracefully?"

"I can do without listening to their self serving and ass covering bullsquat.."

"An old general is like an old ballplayer. They can talk a btter game than they can play."

"This "war council" will just be a bunch of old retired Generals gathering together to see how they can undermine the Commander-In-Chief."

"I find these discussions rather dull and highly biased. In other worthless drivel."

""I am convinced that the best service a retired general can perform is to turn in his tongue along with his suit and to mothball his opinions." (Gen. Omar Bradley)"

2. Because they are INVESTED
It's like people who are caught up in a Ponzi scheme, too ASHAMED to go to the Police and report that they have been conned.

They'd rather just gather a bunch of pals around them who have also been conned, and work on convincing themselves that they actually have not been screwed, ignoring evidence to the contrary.

4. Three of those "armchair Generals" supported the CIC all the way...

Wes was the only one with the balls to tell it like he believes it to be. The rest carried the BushCo water for the entire show.

5. Shoot, it sounded to me like two of them were towing the
Chimpster's line for him. They were claiming they would be satisfied and proud of how this would turn out in a year or so.

6. They all had some criticism, though...
About the spin coming out of the Pentagon and White House, about the policies not working, about the false precepts for the invasion, etc... None were as strong as Clark, and some had their own rosy predictions, but all seemed to have some criticism and apparently Freepers can't take that.
