Saving Social Security is the Christian thing to do. For as long
as I can remember in American History, looking after the very young and the very old have been American values. I just watched part of a program on Free Speech TV, it's Noam Chomsky on Intellectual Self Defense. During the program he brought up this idea that it is a Christian value to look after the young, the old, and even the poor. So why is it that the NEOCONS have been allowed to get away with their rhetoric about "privatizing" social security without being called on this fact. Although, I understand this discussion would bring together the political and the Christian ideology, and by doing so, it also brings up the necessary separation of Church and State (and, BTW, I am all for that). I am not sure if that makes sense; I hope it makes sense. I guess what I am trying to say is that this kind of conversation bring these two elements together. While I am not interested in combining my religion with my politics neither am I interested in allowing the "religious right" to distort the Christian message. It was an interesting and thought provoking program on FSTV.

1. Our SS statements came today.
The yearly ones that show how much you'll get when you retire and much medicare you're entitled to, etc.

Mine, since 2001, has been 0 in all categories. Everything that I've worked for since I was 16 has disappeared. But I'm not surprised by that at all.

However, in this year's, there's a statement in bold type and reddish brown color telling us that SS is going bankrupt and that if something isn't done we'll get nothing in future years.

What a foul thing to do.

2. Absolutely Foul! And deceiving. Their use of fear tactics is so
pervasive and repulsive. They want to destroy Social Security not "privatize" it. It's so NOT a "Christian" thing to do!
