Oooh, this is a good interview with Wes Clark and Alan Colmes...
Sorry to create another Clark thread tonight...I know that some really hate when there is more than one Clark thread started here in a night...but this is really a good interview.

He's coming back with questions from listeners.

Listen online here:

1. Don't worry about the anti-Clark jagoffs.

2. Why can't there be
more than one Clark thread? That is crazy, if he is out and talking there should be as many as it takes for everyone to discuss it.

I am missing it so I will go look for the allowed (?) thread to find out what he said. Thanks for your post or I might not have seen the first one.

10. Right. We cry and cry about the lack of Dem leadership... Clark
seems to be our voice in the wilderness. Let it rip General! Can't have too many threads about what the general has too say.

3. Thank, Carol
I'm sorry I missed it. Will it be repeated? Does this show usually post a transcript?

5. I don't know if it's repeated...
...or if there will be a transcript....I wish there would be...but I think that Ice will have it up on u-wes-a.com eventually.

Alan asked him about how the Iraq situation was affecting the situation in Iraq and he said Iraq was bad on its own merits and then went into an in depth dissertation on global warming and how that will cause more and more occurrences like this. Alan mentioned something RFK Jr had written about this...I'd love to hear Wes on Bobby's AAR show....

Someone called and asked if the fact that so many National Guardsmen and women were in Iraq was creating problems in NO and he said no, there were still enough here to help...what's causing the problems is that the President refuses to take the situation seriously enough.

He brought up the fact that people here who want to put the Ten Commandments on the steps of a courthouse should understand that religion is very important to some in Iraq and so they want to have it be a part of their government....THAT comparison was a good one, although I'm not relating it correctly here.

They talked in depth about Iraq and the Constitution and the timeline thing and what the possibilities are for any kind of success there....Alan asked about Cindy Sheehan and I believe Wes said that he thought the President owed her an explanation and that he supported what she was doing but he didn't agree with her that we should pull out immediately.

Alan asked if he'd considered running in 2008 and he flat out said no, he hadn't, that he was worried about now, getting the issues out there, etc....

I'm sure I missed a bunch....Wow, this guy knows so much about so many things...I am continually amazed by him....

When audio goes up, I'll post link....

And thanks Jim and MuseRider...sometimes I flinch at the shit thrown at Clark "enthusiasts" but, for the most part, I've got a thicker skin than that. :)

Props to Colmes...that was one of the best Wes interviews I've ever heard...

9. You're good Carol!
I missed this interview and yes, Ice promised to put it up tomorrow.

I almost included a mention of "global warming" in wclark's TPM blog: thoughts, and prayers. And then I backed off. Some time ago I read a book called: The Next 100 Years. Even back then, the author predicted that global warming would lead to worse storms just like this one.

I'm glad to know the General is on to this. Someone once told me that he can also hold forth on the issue of dophins, whales and sonor. He said that it is a global issue and can only really be addressed globally.

I'm glad that he will speaking this month on the positive things that can be accomplished by a wedding of environmental, alternative energy and economics concerns.

11. global warming
Actually, after hearing the interview I did go back over to TPM and post something about global warming....I hope it doesn't sound out of place.

This catastrophe in New Orleans has really distressed me, as I'm sure it has many others. Hearing Gen Clark speaking of how this is not an isolated incident is even more distressing. The thought of all our coastal communities being wiped out one by one as we stand helpless before the incredible forces of nature....because of a situation we helped create through our negligence...is almost too much to think about. And then you consider coastal communities in other countries who don't have the resources that we do to combat the storms and repair the damage...a truly depressing and upsetting picture.
