140 MD National Guard volunteers (2 weeks of relief work)

Last night on the local ABC News in Baltimore, I learned that 140 local National Guard members were going to help out with the hurricane situation.

These folks volunteered to go, and they'll only be down there for 2 weeks.

How many more of those 10,000 NG members promised by * will only be deployed for a short time?

Honestly, when you heard that 10,000 were being deployed, didn't you envision a serious long-term commitment to disaster relief?

I did.

to go. Are they considered part of the 10,000? If so, I wonder how many of the 10,000 are volunteers?
