Donna Brazile's family is missing (and does it matter if Soledad is hot?)
James Carville said in an interview with Soledad O'Brien earlier this morning that his sister in Slidell had lost her house, and that Donna Brazile had not heard from her father, and, I believe, two sisters.

And just a silly personal note, as all this has me, like others, both devastated, and cranky -- does every discussion of Soledad's effectiveness as a reporter have to include the point that she's "hot"?

1. I completely agree!!
Every post I read about her contains something about her looks. How shallow is that? This is not the time nor the place. My prayers are with Ms. Brazile and her family.

2. I feel sorry for her and for all the anonymous people in her position.
Why should it be more important for us to hear about famous people than about those who have nothing.

3. It's not more important -- I noted this in the political forum...
because of Brazile's place in Democratic politics. I agree with you -- my heart breaks for all families going through this, including the families of friends of ours, waiting for word from loved ones.

5. why would they have stayed?
There has been a lot of speculation about the number of people who had no resources available to leave the area. But its beginning to become clear that even people who had the resources did not fully appreciate the danger of the situation...something that I think is the government's fault.
