These people are in increasingly desperate straights along with thousands who evacuated themselves to the Convention Center, where dead folks are left in corners with blankets over them, according to a CNN journalist there.

Scotty now on. Dubya punting again to his Daddy and The Big Dog to solicit funds from the American people--after the federal government has been found flat footed on the job. Now CNN has reported FEMA is halting search and rescue, until it's safe. Of course, it's unsafe. People are dying; they are desperate, and there is no one there to provide law and order--let alone evacuate those who did not have the resources to evacuate before Katrina hit on Monday.
