OK...........it is all FINALLY worse than I EVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 12:54 PM by Skittles
the results of the lack of real leadership are glaringly apparent with each passing hour after Hurricane Katrina........as a Texas resident I have put up with this incompetent piece of shit for over a decade but even I must concede now it is wprse than I ever thought it would be. Finally, for me at least, that sad, pathetic milestone has been reached. I predicted the theft of the elections, the ill-advised tax cuts, the trashing of the economy, the unemployment, the wars..... but this.........OMG :(

5. Okay, I see this everyhwere this morning, so tell me...
"Bush has to go now"... how? There is no mechanism for removing a sitting president from office without articles of impeachment drawn up by the House of Representitives. Since his party controls that arm of government, it probably won't happen.

But, say Bush is impeached. Will Cheney be a better President? He's next in line of succession. And, if he resigns, know who's next? Dennis Hastert? You want Dennis Hastert as your President?

I don't any of them. This government shouldn't be in place at all (I do believe the election was "secured" with voter fraud), but we are POWERLESS to REMOVE Bush. And, even if we do, the people who would succeed him are about on a par with him in their worthlessness, lack of compassion, and dedication to their own enrichment at our expense.

So, please... I understand your frustration and anger (I am RIGHT THERE with you, I promise...), but please use your energy in a more constructive way. Get on the phone and call your Rep.'s and Sen.'s, call the WH, call the media -- unload where it can do some good.

TC

3. It is a complete and careless disregard for human life.
It is negligent homicide.

Will the truth get told this time? Will the 'people' finally understand?

6. I wish they would understand
Understand that, but for the grace of god, that could be any of us. And none of us would fare any better or be "helped" any faster. Hope the nation realizes that what they see done to these people can happen to any of us.

7. Bush is the AVATAR OF DEATH
This has been going through my mind continuously since this disaster began.

Truly, he is the Avatar of Death. Everywhere he goes Death follows.

8. That is exactly what i have been thinking all day
Appointing party hacks, ideologues and campaign contributors to important positions and gutting the competence and integrity of so many agencies is so freakin' obvious. this is a sham of an administration. They suck like no other admin has sucked before. the damage that is being done to our country will haunt us for years and probably even generations to come. I have disgust for every single * voter today.

9. I'd like to think it can't get worse, and reality and the law of averages
would seem to indicate that it can't, but these guys don't believe in science.

It can get worse, and it won't take much for it to do so.

12. he's spun his lies one too many times
It's not just the people stuck in the disaster areas that want answers

it's all of America.

We've listened to his lies about Iraq - new excuses and lies every day.

Katrina and the resulting gas crisis is yes another failure from the Master of Disaster.

For most of August we've had photo ops of bush* riding his bike, and butt kissing blather on BBQ's for reporters.

Katrina just didn't appear overnight. We had more than a couple of weeks warning that it was out there. Yeah, it could have been a nothing storm -- but just as likely it could be devestating.

I've lived in the Northeast all my life -- when a snow storm is predicted - we assume the worst case scenario, take precautions and prepare. It's common sense.

FEMA may have been on "alert" but bush* was too busy riding his bike and getting on with his life to take Katrina very seriously. And now he's scambling to cover his butt

Flying over the area doesn't help. This is just political photo-op time to "express compassion". He came, he saw - he probably went for a bike ride afterwards

What Americans are seeing is more lies, more spin and nothing being done that even resembles "making progress"

What can we do now to prepare for the even worse state of the nation that I believe is inevitable over the next few months?

18. Have to wonder if it would've been any different
had they been white suburban soccer moms dragging their beloved dead family members around the streets in a plastic bag because they couldn't bear to let go....Have to wonder if the response would've been more urgent, more concerned, more universal. Yeah, where are all those churches and faith-based charities throwing open the doors? Instead, we hear criticism that they didn't get out---when they had neither the ways or the means to go...and no where to go to.

Have to wonder about the priorities of a country that is more concerned with a father looting a store for milk and food for his starving child--or even a water damaged, insured TV, than the dead citizens floating in the sewer.

Have to wonder how much worse they could be treating Iraqis without a pang of remorse.

And since, the business of America is business, the oil men see an opportunity to pull a California-style energy crisis out of the fire. All is well with America.
