Hastert says rebuilding New Orleans under sea level makes no sense
Louisiana Dems disagree
ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 — It makes no sense to spend billions of dollars to rebuild a city that's seven feet under sea level, House Speaker Dennis Hastert said of federal assistance for hurricane-devastated New Orleans.
Democratic lawmakers from Louisiana were quick to disagree Thursday and Hastert sought to clarify the comment during the day.

2. Perhaps it's Bye bye
Dennis!
That's a fine thought, especially if the people of Chicago think back to the fire.
"Oh, well, since it's gone up in smoke, maybe we shouldn't rebuild it."

Dennis, what were you thinking? And you said it, and it was recorded, and NOW you want to CLARIFY what you said?

We had a word for that when I lived in the UK - WANKER!

4. Nobody likes Hassert
here I'm sure, but you have to admit, if they DO rebuild it, they really, really need to figure out what to do to make a city that is surrounded by water and under sea level safe. They need to jack it up that 7 feet or something. You should not be looking UP at the riverboats going by.
