Is his Party about to desert him like they did his Dad?
As we recall, the Party deserted Poppy because he said "read my lips - no new taxes", and then he raised taxes. So the desertion prevented Poppy from being re-elected. However, Dubya doesn't have to worry about that - he's already got his second term. He has nothing to lose. But, his Party may have to desert him to save themselves. He is becoming too much of a liability to most of them, it seems?

1. Something Major Happened Over The Last Few Days
It's astounding. The words I use to describe it is that "management" has decided to cut Bushco. I think it's because they'd prefer if we don't replay the French Revolution.

3. No but this could grease the wheels of impeachment...
Clearly failing to provide for the safety and security of the people of the United States is an impeachable offense. They just left those people to die in the streets, how can this be justified by anyone as anything other than a crime?

4. I don't think so... the repubs are more concerned about taxes than
poor urban minorities struggling for their lives.

As long as their buddy keeps their taxes low, they're happy.

6. I think some of 'em may be starting to smell a stench...
and as THEY are still up for reelection, and serve at the whims of an increasingly pissed-off electorate, THEY still need us more than they need him. He's a lame duck anyway, and it could be worse if people get madder about this. There was a thread here about a post at redstates.org in which at least some republi-CONS are starting to notice there's something on the wall... could it be writing... what's it say? Dunno, can't tell. I can't make it out... wait a minute... let's see here...

THIS is the big topic. Fuck taxes. Fuck Social Security. Fuck Iraq, even. THIS is what people want to talk about and what they're getting steamed about, and the press is starting to catch on, too.

It's spreading like water seeping more and more swiftly through the levees. My husband thinks this is the beginning of the end, and that bush's own people are gonna take him down. A few nights ago, my husband even said that we were gonna start seeing republi-CONS turning on each other and eating their own over this. He also said (WEEKS AGO) that gas was gonna go up at least to five bucks by the end of the year. So far... so good.

5. Gawd, I hope so!
At least a majority of them... I mean, afterall, Senators and congressmen have to represent their constituents. There appears to be a whole host of constituents who are more and more unhappy with Bushco; who feel lied to and abandoned.

Look at the Hurricane fiasco and lack of immediate help. In MS and Alabama, even the White folk are a bit pissed off for help taking so long. Poor Trent Lott lost HIS mansion down there. I mean :puke:

I listened to white republican southeners rant about what's taking help so long to get with it. A few are still in denial, but I suspect a tide is turning in general all over the country.

INDICT,IMPEACH,IMPRISON!
