Rep. Wexler called for Bush to fire FEMA's Mike Brown in January
for FEMA screwups handling hurricane Francis - hiring ex-cons and giving $30 million to an area 100 miles from where it hit. I got curious about his history of incomptence after reading he said FEMA didn't know people were without food and water in the Superdome until today. Does anyone have more info on this man who is surely destined for higher office or a medal of honor in the bush administration?

1. Here ya go:
September 01, 2005
My lord, the guy heading FEMA has no qualifications. What was he doing before getting pulled into FEMA by the Bush administration in 2003? He was an estate planning lawyer in Colorado and of counsel for the International Arabian Horse Association Legal Department. And yes, it is the same Michael D. Brown.

4. Well he could help the people in the Superdome and Convention
center to do some estate planning, if they had any assets left, that is.

And then he could go riding through the streets of NO with the rest of the W admin on Arabian horses, all decked out in full regalia.

Yep, sounds like another great choice to me.

:sarcasm:

2. No, but I heard Paula Zahn ask him
something like, I know it is very difficult and complicated etc etc, but are you telling me that you didn't know until tonight that there were people in the convention center?

He started saying that he didn't know until tonight...and I think I flipped the channel to some nice peaceful tvland reruns.

5. And on Nightline, he tried claiming that they were feeding all those...
... at both the Superdome and the Convention Center, and Koppel bitch-slapped him down, informing him that those at the CC were NOT being fed and were in dire need of help.

6. It occurred to me that this would be a good way to relate to
the media what we all already know, if they don't.

I mean they're all following this, the hurricane approach, the lack of response for the survivors etc.

So they know off the top of their heads that these trogylodytes are lying through their teeth.

I wanna say "This is no different than their S.O.P. You all just happen to have these facts in mind from covering it all. But they do exactly the same thing ALL the time, all the time!!"

7. Shrub has a real knack of hiring incompetent people hih?
He's got an entire administration full of them!

Geese, I'm just thinking of the recent ones, like Bolton, Chertoff, Brown, and a host of others who's names escape me now!

I don't have a problem wiwth people in power hiring friends, but those that I knew personally at least hired competent people!

10. well in all fairness
not that fair counts, incompetence depends on what it is you set out to accomplish in the first place. what that is, we don't know yet.

8. Correction!
Not to give this guy one bit of credit, but we must keep our information accurate. He was refering to the Convention Center, not the Superdome when he said that "he didn't know people were without food and water 'til today" I read on another thread that he was an Attorney, and something else about representing Arabian Horse Breeders!! How's that for qualifications!!. Bush must owe him some "hush money or something"!!!
