Idiot son's beady little snake eyes are darting around the place, almost as if to see who's watching him. Also, his moth has an odd turn to it ... sorta slack-jawed and distorted. And then he sort of 'starts' and comes back into focus.

The same as a child in a class in which he is disinterested.

14. Frankly, it's the best thing that could have happened to an asshole

like Trent Lott. Probably the first time in DECADES he's actually had to share the pain. And it's not like this is any real, permanently disabling, unrecoverable setback for somebody like Trent Lott. Besides, Trent Lott probably doesn't have just one single house to call home, he still has a job, he still gets a paycheck and a mighty-fine pension and goodie bag of perks. He's well-situated enough to be able to rebuild for himself, without any government disaster aid, although I'd bet he'll elbow himself to the front of the line for whatever storm-related freebies will eventually be offered. People like Trent Lott need to be reminded of the cruelties of the real world - that the victims of this hurricane have to live with EVERY FRICKIN' DAY. EVERY DAY!!!!! It's good that he has to swallow this bitter pill. It might be good for him as a human being, to see how the other half suffers, because now he's part of that other half - at least on paper.

This is a lesson bush himself has yet to learn - and still needs to. Trent Lott may have started poor (I don't remember enough about his background, sorry) but bush NEVER did. He has no idea what it's like to be truly needy, or up shit creek. He's NEVER had to suffer, EVER. He's NEVER known hardship. He's NEVER had to live with difficulty and adversity and hunger and thirst and sickness and want, no less consequences. He's never been farther than a few inches from a limousine from the day he was born.
