Tweety: How would Bush handle a nuclear attack if he can't handle Katrina?
This conversation took place live on MSNBC about 30 minutes ago, so there is no URL.

In absence of a transcript, what was said was essentially this:

Matthews was talking with Howard Finemann and they both agreed that:

1). Unlike 9/11, we were not "hit by an enemy," we were hit by Mother Nature, so there will be no goodwill and silence and support of the "Commander-In-Chief," rather, Bush as an administrator failed and will pay for that failure.

2). The same agencies that have "handled" the aftermath of Katrina would be responsible for "handling" the aftermath of a nuclear /WMD attack. If this is evidence of how they would perform, we would be in serious trouble.

3). Chertoff...REGARDLESS of whatever qualifications landed him the job...might be the WRONG person for the Homeland Security job.

4). Andy Card, Karl Rove, ANY of the hard-line people in his administration should have told Bush to get his ass off the ranch the MINUTE the "red blobs appeared on the radar screen" (when Katrina hit).

Tweety often repeats himself, so I'm sure these points will come up again.

2. Tell me, why the hell should card or kkkarl HAVE TO TELL * TO
GET HIS ASS OFF THE RANCH??? Don't you think it would be common sense? At least act the fuck like you have a shred of compassion. And while I'm on it, how 'bout those shoes, Condi? Spending the bonus check?

3. what
qualifications did Chertoff have?

"Prior to that, Chertoff spent more than a decade as a federal prosecutor, including service as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, and Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. As United States Attorney, Chertoff investigated and prosecuted several significant cases of political corruption, organized crime, and corporate fraud. "

Oh yeah. He's a buscho operative.

6. Tweety said he was a "tough guy."
Bush thought he needed a "tough guy" in the job, so he picked Chertoff.

He then went on to say that Chertoff had no experiences HANDLING DISASTERS, as state governors do, and for that reason (among others) he could very well be the wrong man for the job.

8. Tweety doesn't get it, or he may be disassembling
The American people are insignificant. No matter what catastrophe befalls them, the Bush administration has "other priorities": securing global domination and control, making the world safe for US corporate capital accumulation, and securing a bountiful future for the tiny elite who control the system as well as its crucial propaganda machine disguised as the news and entertainment media.

Events like Katrina and 9/11 are good things for this system of control as long as the elite also control the way the rest of the population think. Tweety should take pride in his own contributions to the disinformation function.

9. Tweety also questioned where Cheney is and why he hasn't been
visible this week. Tweets said he was all over the place right after 9/11.

10. Sounds like Tweety is waking up, but
His opinions change with which way the predominant political breeze is blowing. To the left, to the right, or in the center. With Chris, there's little constancy.
