Yet another FR Post..
Something to look at:

I am having serious doubts about continuing to be a Republican.

Posted on 09/02/2005 3:48:10 PM PDT by UndercoverFreeper

Hi, I'm a long time lurker, having posted a few times, but been a Freeper for close to two years. I have had lots of doubts with President Bush for some time, even before the 2004 elections, but I didn't like Kerry so I voted for Bush again. But this tragedy has hit too close to home. I lived in Idaho for several years before moving back to Alabama, and I live in Washington County, and I left before Katrina hit, and my home is powerless and won't have power or oil for a while. Although I continue to support President Bush, I seriously am thinking about leaving Republican Party for a while because the leadership with the Party has been really bad and I have some relatives in New Orleans that I have not heard since the hurricane hit, and it has shown me that there has been no food or water delivered for more than 3 days until President Bush showed up. Today was the last straw.I'm seriously thinking leaving the Republican Party and tearing up the card and going to Liberterian Party. It still fits within my ideals, but I'm telling you, fellow FReepers, this is it. I'm done. President Bush has totally lost my support. I'm even wondering if the Iraq war is all worth it too. Anyone have the same feelings?

4. It reminds me of a phone call Rachel Madow took while subbing for Franken

The woman described herself as a definite Republican, who voted for Bush twice, but said that based on his handling of this crisis, she would fully support his removal from office. Inregards to this poster, I hope he lasts a while.

9. Of course people are having feelings about supporting an Iraq War
when it was handled so poorly, based on myths instead of realities, as bad as Saddam was.

Saddam offered elections in a year - just as the war was starting. Bush should have gone that route. Boys with toys.

All started when the neocons got into power under Reagan and decided the Middle East was not ready for democracy so they supported rogues like Saddam and his aggression which they now say was why he had to be taken out. Then they didn't go after Saddam after he invaded Kuwait.

Neocons are wrong. They have never been right. One would have to be a fool to never notice.

14. agree, anyone posting here under the byline
UndercoverDU'er with several posts threatening to leave the party would be toast in a short period of time. Since I only go to the freak show when there is a DU link, what I don't get is the pulling of a thread.

I know we do that from time to time but the usual case is to tombstone the perp. Do the freeky-pubelickers have an equivalent to the tombstone?

13. Really? Freepers, if you love America, you'll turn George loose.
He will watch any of us die for what ever mindless, traitorous cause he dreams up. He doesn't care about you, he cares about power and money.

15. Please FR folks... think about it.... "There but by the Grace of God go I"
A catostrophic event can happen ANYWHERE and to ANYONE... even you. If it were you, your child, your mother, father or other loved ones stuck in NO with no way out... how would you feel if it took DAYS to get any help or any hope of help? If you were in charge... how long would it take you to get help there knowing people were dying and desparate? Think about the pictures of the babies... the small children... how would you feel if that were YOUR sweet child?

"There but by the grace of God go I"...

16. The fact that you invited Freeps over with post #666 is truly ironic
Especially since they're already on the Dark Side. Or would that be the Dork Side?

17. Hi Republicans!
*Have you realized yet that if YOU are NOT in the top 1%, YOU are NOT invited to the BIG PARTY?

*Have YOU realized yet that if YOU WORK for a living, voting for a Republican is NOT very smart?

* Have you realized yet that TAX CUTS for the already VERY RICH will NOT jump start the economy? How many extra employees (besides lawyers) did Rush Limbaugh hire with his Million Dollar tax break?

*Have you realized yet that the Republicans just gave MILLIONS of Dollars of YOUR TAX MONEY to their friends at Exxon/Mobile?

*Have you realized yet that the owners of Exxon/Mobile are making RECORD PROFITS off of the money YOU pay at the pump. Have you realized yet that the Republican Party thinks that HIGH Gas Prices are PEACHY because they get more of YOUR money?

Here is the face of Compassionate Conservatism!

The Republican Ownership Society

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.
