just wondering because a caller on Randi Roads brought up a good point about the 06 elections. These 3 states are "red" w/ blue governments.

Get rid of the poor/minorities.
Take some to Texas, tell them their blue govs failed them.

1. Alabama is hard to analyze. I realize people think we're all necks
But we're not. Our Guv is Republican but he has a lot of Democratic ideals and he's very compassionate. The biggest problem is ignorance and the fact that poor and lower middle class people are defensive about being labeled as Rednecks. The populace isn't as dumb as you think, it's just that the Repugs pander to them and the Dems ignore them and don't try to appeal to them. There are a number of issues that my Repug coworkers and I agree on such as outsourcing and illegal aliens and I don't see Dem leaders trying to find the common ground and uniting us.

2. Alabama's 2 coastal counties are red.

I live in Baldwin.
That's the one on the right/east side of Mobile Bay.
We are overwhelmingly red.
Mobile is also red, as is the newspaper, the Mobile Register.

The state legislature is majority blue, but maybe not Democrats as you would recognize them.
