The Federal Government was incapable/unable to respond to Hurricane Katrina even though:

It has been a historically highly predictable disaster

It was tracked and predicted days in advance

FEMA planning exercises on "Hurricane Pam" were just recently done

We have "Homeland Security"specifically created to be the watchdog/overseer of domestic disturbances

We've had the ballyhooed realignment of FEMA under Homeland to make it more efficient and responsive

We've spent untold billions of dollars towards "Homeland Security"

We will spend more untold billions of dollars towards "Homeland Security.

The untold billions and billions won't be enough and we will have to appeal to the country and the world for "Katrina"s Kids" and will have to find a mega-watt celebrity endorser.

We will never get a clear accounting as to what the previous untold billions have been spent on

We have lost American lives in America

We are the puzzlement/disgrace of the world -

"they can't evacuate and protect the 47th largest metropolitan area??"

The biggest, most powerful, only remaining superpower in the world can't/won't respond to save their own citizens if there are several reports of gunshots in a metropolitan area? (too bad about those other thousands of orderly citizens waiting for the basics of survival.)

So, to put it all into perspective: it's the biggest collective !@#$%^^&**( on the face of the modern earth.
