GOP's Nightmare Government in Action
Grover Norquist's famous quote: "I don't want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub.". The irony rivals any episode of the Twilight Zone.

The lesson returns: Politicians who "Hate Government" really suck at governing - especially in a crisis. The GOP has built many careers and control of all branches of the Federal Government with this ruling ideology. Never have the consequences been more apparent than this week.

A really scary part, is what is going to happen the next time a disaster strikes, or even just looms? Confidence will be non existent and panic a certainty. People will expect worse than worst case and behave accordingly. And you can be certain that those who "hate us" are watching this with great interest and taking notes.

3. Republicans say government sucks. So they want to run the government
and do what they need to do to prove it sucks. Nice job, a-holes. You've managed to convince us all that government in the hands of Republicans sucks very deeply indeed.

4. Republicans are good at corruption and building their power base.
They're not so good at public service and leadership.

5. On BBC 10:00pm News tonight they interviewed a delusional Bush fan...
...in a pile of rubble that was Biloxi, Mississippi.

He said, "When Bush came thissmornin', You could see care in his eyes. He's Compassionate, and now that everyone's seen the disaster and know the magnitude, I'll, I'll come, the help will come, It's comin'."

This guy has been waiting 5 days for help, and is still waiting, What's it going to take to convince these idiots that * is a total incompetent? That's what I want to know.
