The Dixie Chicks and the French have been proven to be right.
They stood for the truth and have been condemned for doing so.
They are owed an apology from every right winger who vilified them.

3. iamjoy says, "Right About What"
The French were right about there being no good reason to invade Iraq. They stood their ground and refused to be bullied into supporting Bush's lies.
The Dixie Chicks said they were ashamed that Bush was from their home state of Texas. Now, we have reporters and lots of other people all over the world seeing that Bush is not the leader he pretends to be.
The Dixie Chicks and the French should be recognized for their stands, which took quite a bit of courage in the face of the spin they have endured from the right wingers in America. They have gotten hate mail and death threats from Americans who ought to know better.

5. I live in St. Louis, and it amazes me how tolerant ...
... Americans were of Republicans smearing the French to cover for Bush. France and America have been great friends througout history. America has tremendous French influence (St. Louis itself is named after the French King/Saint Louis IX). So to preserve Bush's right to drag us into an unnecessary war, Republicans actually sullied America's own heritage.

And of course, the Dixie Chicks showed great courage. They are unsung heros.
