true? the Bush Biloxi Sisters Hug are looters scam
I read earlier today a thread that the two sisters being huggedd in the photo-op did not live in Biloxi and were actually looting.

There was a link that tone sister attended college in a town 20 miles away. Was there any proof that they actually lost a house there in Biloxi?

It's another one of those stupid manipulated scams presented to the public to play on emotions, and it should be talked about more. But only if it's factual.

Spreading stories like this that end up being untrue just backfire and make us look like liars. Anyone know it it was discussed further?

1. The looting part is extrapolated since
that kind of "shopping" was the only kind in town, and shopping is what they said they were there for to CNN. (Aaron Brown)

6. I watched the video again
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 01:25 AM by FreedomAngel82
In the video the woman talks about how people told her the water goes up to her chin and she says she couldn't find her son and they thought he was dead but she heard from him and he was sent to Alabama (I think family). Then she said they couldn't find any clothes and Bush said the Salvation Army will get them clothes and the whole time he was talking to her he kept looking at the camera. One point the younger girl tried to hug him and he just turned her to position her for a camera (or cameras). :eyes: The important thing to remember about Bush is this: he does nothing around people unless it's good for his image. Just like his little "town hall" meetings.

3. Salvaging.
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 01:08 AM by NYC
They were salvaging clothes, or something.

So far, we have learned:

Black people loot.
White people find.
Those two sisters salvage.
The army commandeers.

I think someone was making a joke when he said the sisters were looters.

As for where they live, who knows? They said they came from Gautier about 17 or 20 miles away. Maybe that's where they had evacuated to. Maybe they really did have a house in Biloxi. On that day, they had come 17-20 miles to Biloxi, cleanly clad, neatly coiffed. How did they get there? One wonders.

There is a telephone listing for their last name in Gautier, and another in Ocean Bright, or some similarly named town.

Whatever went on, whoever they are, we know that it was staged. Bush's photo ops are always staged. The sisters may have been innocent dupes.

4. Bronwynne is a foreign exchange student from South Africa.
Previously from High Springs, Florida, went to school in Gainesville I understand.

I can't find the thread right now, but there was a huge one last night.

They were most likely friends of Bush...I doubt a foreign exchange student would be a scavenger. She said she was not from Biloxi, just there to get clothes.

Something fishy there all the way around.
