To Those Who Voted for Bush: Do You Get It Now?
No, they'll never get it- cognitive dissonance can't be cope with locic or arguments nor with this terrible images of devastation and death-tolls in the tousands.

You have to admit that you were wrong- deadly wrong. It's much easier to make believe it's all OK with this government and with your own vote decision

1. They are not the type to admit wrong doing.
But, I believe that they will begin to act on the side of what is good to help turn this nation around.

It is time people..."United we stand"

2. They'll be ready with the same bag of excuses for their incompetent idiot.
"No one could have seen it coming."

Sure, except for Scientific American in 2001, or Clinton's FEMA that left preparedness docs for the incoming Bush idiots, or everyone else who knew New Orleans was in danger from a big storm.

"It was the fault of (insert name of Democrat here)."

Clinton might be a stretch, though I'm sure some have tried. More likely going to be the mayor of N.O. or Governor Blanco, even though neither has the resources nor responsibility for a disaster of this magnitude.

"It's big government that's so inefficient!"

Right. The same big government that under Clinton whipped FEMA into a lean, mean, disaster-fighting machine that got praise all across the board.

12. I do suspect that you are correct.
If this doesn't open some eyes on the Right, a LOT of eyes, NOTHING will.

5. No they don't. Rec'd the following from repug bro this weekend:

"again I reiterate, how can you expect our gov to plan for a situation this large. I surely cannot imagine over a million peeps without familys displaced. Thousands dead (according to the press). I don't know how anyone could blame the gov. The gov is doing everything it can. Heck, your bro is there now passing out water and rations as we write in the name of the gov. I still feel that if soo many folks hated our gov, why did Pres Bush get more votes than any president in history. I still feel that pres bush is doing all he can to assist with this disaster but it is soo far reaching, that to come up with a plan takes time."
Also,
So what you are saying is Pres bush should have stopped the war, not started it at all. Even before the war you were finding excuses to hate him... He did this wrong, he did that wrong. I am sick and tired of you liberals undermining what we are doing with our Military and second guessing what the gov is doing. I am sure that the good peeps in the gulf states wanted more money. If you do the research, you will find that the same moneys have been going to the levy project. What they are complaining about is that there was no escalation of funds. That money was used to protect our troops that are in harms way.

6. How can you expect our gov to plan for a situation this large???
Isn't that EXACTLY what DHS was intended for? I could have sworn that we were told repeatedly by Cheney and Bush that they could and would be able to respond to situations that large.

9. I know a few decent R's that are conservative, but they are from a
different era, the Eisenhower Republicans. It is the neo-con movement that has taken this country into the depths of hell, and for some abstract reason I have yet to figure out, the real conservative/moderate R's follow them into the Gates of Hell whistling while they go.

The ultra-fundie group is not really all that large in the GOP, but they are vociferous, this makes them a threat. Kow-Towing to any specific group is dangerous enough, but getting in the sack with a religious group is always a very real danger. I know some fundies, and they are not 'bad' people, after all, one cannot fight faith with science or vice-versa. Some people truly believe Adam and Eve ran around with T-Rex's, go figure; but no matter how many facts are placed before them, they will truly believe that that was the way it was... Is there anything wrong with this on a personal level, I don't think so, although I do find it somewhat humorous myself...:)
They just won't see things in a scientific way....faith overrides science.

The neo-cons are delusional in so many ways, it is difficult to put all of those delusions into a list and not roll one's eyes. Suffice it to say, that the neo-con movement is based on the premise that some people are inherently 'better' than others. The end game, is to establish a medieval society of Lords & Ladies, and serfs. Those with massive amounts of cash and property are to rule over those with little or nothing. This is precisely what we fought the Revolution about back in the 18th Century!

I believe in fiscal conservatism at the government level, but certainly not the way the neo-cons purvey fiscal conservatism. I believe in a strong military, but that military should only be used to defend the nation, not go out and get involved in Imperial premises. I think SDI, or "Star Wars" is a complete waste of money and talent; if that money and talent were used on alternative energy sources, we'd be sitting pretty good energy wise these days.

OK, I've said my piece. I am a Social Liberal, and a fiscal moderate. I will continue to fight for the rights of those who are either too timid to fight for themselves, or simply to lazy to get up and squawk....it is my duty as a human being, and it is the right thing to do....:)

10. hate to say it, but some people who voted for bush LIKE what happened
in New Orleans. You can tell by the water cooler talk where they blame the victims, or say they're used to handouts, or make welfare mother comments.

For some of these people, I think more dead poor people is okeydokey by them.
If they happen to be black on top of that, all the better.

15. But according to Naderites, you're not allowed to criticize for votes
1) My Bush vote didn't change the result

2) If Gore weren't an incompetent campaigner, he would have won despite my efforts

3) It's Gore's fault for abandoning his base.

4) Bush won despite a third party challenge, so he's a better candidate.

5) Bush was stealing votes anyway, so my vote didn't count

6) I didn't actually vote FOR Bush, I voted AGAINST Gore

Did I leave any naderite/progressive/third party apology out?
