Didnt Catch the JOurnalist's name (can anyone tell me who it was) but in a nutshell he said
"GIven the failure of leadership in the first few days of the crisis and the fact that those who failed in leadership are still directing the relief, wouldnt it be wise to select one person, preferably a retired miltary person, to lead the relief operation rather than allow those who failed to provide leadership to continue to oversee the federal efforts?"
This is exactly the correct the response which the WH should be following. It is the ONLY possible response which the WH can follow if it wants to salvage its worthless political hide in the South and gain the trust of Katrina's victims, Southerners for whom LEADERSHIP in times of Crisis is more important than money.
But what did Scottie, a Southern boy who ought to know better say? His response was an immediate "No!"
The Bush administration is not only going down the toilet. It is flushing the handle itself.
