Doctor on Anderson Cooper said it's state and local people who are the
heros because they were there and working. He said the state and local people were the only ones who were actually there and working on the ground. This doctor took it upon himself to go back into New Orleans and help the rescue workers, police, etc with medical care. They didn't get anything from the Feds until TODAY. (I think, reading between the lines, the doctor is really MAD at the feds.)

Made Lou Dobbs look like a fool. Of course, you tend to look like a fool when you base your news stories on spin from a Republican shill.

Man, I am so HAPPY Anderson Cooper is telling it like it is.

5. What I don't understand is how can B*** go there, see people...
suffering (or maybe he was shielded from everything) but if he saw any news coverage and had any idea of how bad it was... and as pRes it is his JOB to get the truth in these situations, but it seems to me he looks but doesn't see and understand the reality of people dying because of his decisions.

Locals care. These are PEOPLE to them and US, but not to B***. Why? How can someone be so disconnected? Is he high all the time? Is he out of his mind? I mean is he really insane and incapable of making a rational assessment?

7. You're right
I've been thinking lately...If I was Bush, how could I have so much blood on my hands and not absolutely hate myself? I would try to do everything to remedy my past mistakes.

He feels no shame or empathy. Unbelievable.

8. Lou Dobbs apparently doesn't know about IEM, Inc outsouring by FEMA
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 08:56 PM by EVDebs
""The IEM team will complete a functional exercise on a catastrophic hurricane strike in Southeast Louisiana and use results to develop a response and recovery plan. A catastrophic event is one that can overwhelm State, local and private capabilities so quickly that communities could be devastated without Federal assistance and multi-agency planning and preparedness.""

http://www.ieminc.com/Whats_New/Press_Releases/pressrelease060304_Catastrophic.htm

So, you see, the state and local operators when overwhelmed by the CAT 5 hurricane with the levees breaching, were rightfully expecting the federal catastrophic disaster entities (FEMA, Nat Guard, etc.) to stand up and execute the plan. Was there a plan even ? I'm now hearing that the SELA/NO Catastrophic Hurrican Plan wasn't even finished...Also, according to the Sept. 2, NYTimes article on the NO levees, the city officials had done all they could to transport people to shelters. And Bush on Sat, Aug 27, had called up the National Guard to do evacuation assistance.

Normally Mr Dobbs does a good job of uncovering outsourcing and its ill effects on the US economy. Someone from DU should enlighten the poor man, that Harvard degree on his wall needs dusting !

9. Mr Dobbs has been a disappointment to say the least.
he really should attempt to get his information from a wider array of sources.

His credibility is on the line. I always thought that credibility and fairness was important to him.

Oh well, things change. We'll see.
