"What didn't go right?"
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 01:22 PM by Writer
She related that she had urged Bush at the White House on Tuesday to fire Michael Brown.

"He said 'Why would I do that?'" Pelosi said.

"'I said because of all that went wrong, of all that didn't go right last week.' And he said 'What didn't go right?'"

"Oblivious, in denial, dangerous," she added.

THIS NEEDS PRESS.

1. FYI, It's what Bush said to Pelosi when she asked him what he was going
to do to address what didn't go right.

2. Yes, sorry about that.
Edited to add context of Bush's comment per Pelosi.

But here's a version from an Atlanta station.

6. Here's one report:
"At a news conference, Pelosi, D-Calif., said Bush's choice for head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency had "absolutely no credentials."

She related that she had urged Bush at the White House on Tuesday to fire Michael Brown.

"He said 'Why would I do that?'" Pelosi said.

"'I said because of all that went wrong, of all that didn't go right last week.' And he said 'What didn't go right?'"

"Oblivious, in denial, dangerous," she added."

7. So, where is her call for his resignation? -- Or his impeachment?
All I've seen and heard from her so far is just a bunch of go-along-to-get-along bullshit that makes my head explode.

If this is true (and I don't doubt it), she should be out on the steps of the Capitol screaming bloody murder for his head ona platter.

Just my opinion, but I have lost all patience at this point.

10. TC... Pelosi is NOT in control of the House!
I'm all for impeachment, but please spell out how, pragmatically, Pelosi and Reid are supposed to put this whole impeachment thing together, given they are not the majority party?

11. You're right... I mis-fired (I'm getting punchy...)
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 02:02 PM by Totally Committed
she's in charge of the DEMOCRATS in the House... but, all the outrage still applies. She should be rallying them as I write this. She and Reid should be issuing stronger and stronger statements, and whipping the Democrats up!

"What didn't go right?" -- from the POTUS? Appalling.

Thanks for giving me the chance to correct my mis-fire, Writer, I appreciate it!

14. It's a good start!
Thanks, Writer. That made me feel somewhat better. All I want is for the leaders of our Party to LEAD. I am not interested in politeness, or going-along-to-get-along. I want hellfire and I want action. I want to hear them say Bush should be held accountable.

They need to realize the average American gets his/her news from the headlines, the first paragraph, or the first couple of sentences. That's what the Republicans know. that's why they say the same thing over and over, and feign outrage as much as possible. America listens to drama queens. The Dems need to learn that, and make their soundbites accordingly.

This will "hold me" for a while. But, arent you just LONGING for some elected Democrat to just go off his/her nut and lay out a ballistic rant-and-a-half? I know I am.

16. Well, yeah. Bush is malignantly narcissistic and it's dangerous
to keep him in office.

We need to get him out. It IS a life or death issue to me.

13. Maybe he's telling the truth...
Think about it:

About 10,000 "poor negroes" killed, an entire major city with a majority of Democratic voters taken off the map, Halliburton getting another multi-billion dollar contract...

"What didn't go right?" What didn't go right for Bush and his cronies?

In the words of Barbara Bush:

"...this is working very well for them."

Indeed
