Freep-holes respond with compassion to the $2000 FEMA debit card idea

Great move politically. It is also an extremely efficient distribution of aid to people displaced, and reduces the time that they are dependent on the government to procure everything from toothpaste to toilet paper. It will also be wasted by a lot of people who don't know how to handle this kind of money when they're in need. And it will help a lot of addicts purchase their fixes, which should reduce any immediate crime spree in Houston and Baton Rouge, but also tempt some folks back to their addictions.

Some of the displaced residents are mad about this proposal because they haven't found a way for the displaced drug dealers to accept the debit cards yet. George Bush hasn't acted fast enough on this issue either.

Whooo Hoo! This will turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to some of these people. How close do you have to be to claim you were affected? Is 700 miles too far? I want in on this scam. Question: Is this in addition to the welfare and unemployment checks. In all seriousness, I realize they are in immediate need, but who's going to be watching for corruption?

This will be a field day for the drug dealers and liquor stores. Look for the OD's to begin showing up at the hospital.

"They are going to start issuing debit cards, $2,000 per adult, today at the Astrodome," At the Astrodome? I bet those who stayed behind at the Superdome are going to be truckin' it over to Houston today.

1. Yup.
Real humanitarians. They want those didaster victims to "pull themselves up by the bootstraps".

Ketamine darts. We just don't have enough ketamine darts to go around.

4. People receiving this money should be
finger-imaged when they sign for their cash with a warning"if you file a fraudulent claim or file a second claim you will be prosecuted"
Like the 911 disaster many would be con artists came out of the woodwork. It took some time but officials nabbed many cheats as the months and years passed after 911..

10. Funny thing is that the
"Freakers" support is what enables Rush Limbaugh to buy his drugs in bulk!!

Can't give poor people with nothing a couple grand, but they'll sit on their ass and listen to a $20 million a year "hill-billy heroin" addict.

If there is a god, he's got to be laughing his ass off at the irony.

7. "I'm moving to New Orleans!!!"
If only we could do this retroactively with all freepers. Filthy, contaminated, infected flood water is too good for them.

My disgust meter has been pegged out for so long I don't think I'll ever feel anything else!

I guess the Constitutional ideal of "promote the general welfare" is DOA with these creeps. The ideal of "establish Justice" is a lost cause, as well.

and stupidity that they can't see the obvious? That many of these Katrina victims will now be able to travel to
other parts of the country and be with their families? And that when all is said and done, this will save money?

No need to answer.

16. Egads. Now I AM ashamed to be white.
I withdraw my earlier post. What a bunch of racist shitfucks.

I don't recall this kind of outrage when Bush gave everyone in America a check.

I don't think for a second that these things would be posted if the victims of Katrina were predominantly white.

It turns out the Emperor does have clothes. Unfortunately a white robe and a hood with eye-holes.

To all of you, my minority friends, I apologize most sincerely for this. How we must look.

I'm so sorry.

17. the overt racism is so surprising!
The over generalization of African Americans as criminals and addicts is overriding their opinion on the much needed $2000 for relocation. It is beyond me that they would focus on a very few of the population to characterize the program is so freeperific!

I do, however, feel that more funds may be needed, whereas others may need less.. I think that a needs based system woudl eb bet, although probably logistically diffiult. I can understand the sentiment that some of the victims make unwise use of the funds, but I think a more understanding approach could be used.

that applied complaining. BTW, if you were on food stamps, you were not eligible.

Freepers are such racists.
