Where is Powell?
Granted he has no credibility left, but if he came out speaking forcefully against the administration - even if it's just since he left, I think he could still do a lot of good.

There are few Americans, particularly on the Republican side who have a Rock Star image who are not looking to gain higher office.

Where the heck is that guy? I guess his inability to show lends yet more evidence that he has no credibility.

1. I think he's prepping his case for when he's eventually indicted.

2. Waiting for his next appointment
and trying not to ruffle any feathers in the meantime.

What, you thought he was something more than a good soldier for the Bush admin just because he resigned?

5. I think he's like Darth Vader
There is *some* spark of goodness in him somewhere.

I guess he's more conservative machine now than man, twisted and evil.

7. I'm just thinking Clinton could have sent Gore down to NO to help the
cleanup, and I think it *would* have done some good, would have helped morale. Like it or not George Jr. is the resident of the White House, and I'm wracking my brain to think of anyone he could "send" who would be any help whatsoever.

Powell's the best I can come up with. Better still if he were there on his own with his sleeves rolled up slogging throug the mud and at the same time denouncing George Jr.'s role in not helping.

I dunno, I got a headache.

8. I think Powell must be counting up the ways this WH has humiliated
him, his troops, his service & now ... Katrina.

That's better than nothing.

Weird that it's not being covered much.

9. Powell's been neutralized (or neutered)
He spoke briefly today. It was very disappointing. They've done one of those bodysnatchers/Stepford wives jobs on him. I think they've been working on him for the last few days, waiting for his outrage to be replaced by whatever soma Bush&Co pumps into people who might not automatically fall in step with the Party Line.

13. i've heard rumors
that he's planning a presidential run. Not sure on the accuracy of that at all. Wonder if he still has the appeal he used to.

14. He's somewhere grieving for the soul he sold so long ago....
He hasn't got an once of credibility left. The payment he got for his soul
has long been spent. His Neocon pals, who were just using him to make
themselves look diverse, have no use for him anymore. Nor does anyone
else.

15. I believe he's doing an interview with Barbara Walters this week
I suppose it will be on 20/20. I saw an ad for it, but I wasn't paying much attention. They showed Baba asking him "And how did you feel when you realized you'd been misled about weapons of mass destruction?" It's a teaser so, of course, they didn't show his answer.

16. He'll be on 20/20 on Friday w/ Barbara Walters at 10 PM ET on ABC:
http://abcnews.go.com/2020/

This Friday, Sept. 9, at 10 p.m. ET

EXCLUSIVE: Barbara Walters talks with former Secretary of State Colin Powell about being the president's point man, making the case for invading Iraq. Now, out of office, he talks freely about being wrong, being loyal -- and his next move.
