Landrieu's Speech

A short time ago local news station showed Senator Mary Landrieu's Senate speech. It was a strong speech. The thing I liked most about the speech was that she said the city of New Orleans would be rebuilt. I was waiting for one of the leaders of the state of Louisiana and the federal government say that the city would be rebuilt. From the beginning I always felt the city should be rebuilt.

2. Lets hope she's learned from this experience

Like so many DLC-type Dems at the beginning of this crisis, she was praising Bush and giving the "let's be patient" routine.

When she finally got on the ground, found out the facts and saw her state get kicked in the teeth repeatedly by Bush, she seemed to wise up.

This should be a real world lesson for all of the cosseted, reality challenged Vichy Dems in Congress. Bush and the GOP are going to keep lying to you until you get some spine. The more Dems try to work with them, the more their constituents are going to be hurt and the less power, respect and influence you'll have in Congress.
