Could Katrina give Bush his exit strategy?

What if... what if the whole Katrina mess was a strategy for Bush to get out of Iraq and save face?

What if... he thinks he can be a hero by bringing the troops home, but he didn't have an exit strategy, and what if Katrina provided his exit strategy ("we need our troops at home")

Could it be?

I still can't decide whether the mess was deliberate or just gross incompetence, but either way, what if the pull-out of Iraq comes of this?

that implies he has a plan.. back in 2002 prior to invading Iraq he said there were no plans on his desk -- and considering the mess - I'm now inclined to believe him -- there were no plans on his desk or anywhere else

it's apparant from Katrina - there are also no plans to deal with disasters on the "homeland" either

he blathers on about 'staying the course' -- what course? to have a course to stay with - first you need a plan -- and there are no plans on his desk

When the bay of pigs plan screwed up big-time - Kennedy came out and took responsibility. When Clinton was waist high in doo-doo over Monica - he came out and took responsibility.

and what does bush* do about Katrina and the FEMA failure? He blames everyone else and then pooh-poohs the "blame game"

his best exit strategy would be to appear before the American People and announce his resignation.

Once he made himself a national hero, THEN he could have announced that he was pulling out of Iraq in order to concentrate US efforts on taking care of US needs and would the UN and Middle Eastern nations please take up the slack in Iraq? Watching Bush eagerly deal with Katrina here they would have been happy to help there. *'s poll numbers would have shot up faster than the price of oil.

But no, he missed his window of opportunity, because Karl Rove is no where near as smart as he makes himself out to be. I am only a private citizen and I figured this all out last Tuesday and watched and waited to see if the WH would get it right. I was hoping they would for NOLA's sake and so we could get the hell out if Iraq, even if it meant Monkey Boy would get his mandate back again.
