you almost get dumber by watching Fox News. Their viewers don't just know the least out of any news demographic, they believe the exact opposite of what is true. High percentages of Fox viewers believe that Saddam had something to do with 9/11 and that WMD were found in Iraq. It's insane. I watched their Sunday network show, I don't get cable, a few times and it was bizarre. Like it existed in a totally different world. When Bill Kristol and Brit Hume start talking about how we eradicated terrorism in Fallujah and the insurgency is at it's end, that's when I call complete bullshit. That was about a year and a half ago too.

Actually, I take my first comment back. Not almost. You do get dumber by watching Fox News. Especially if you believe all of that shit.

Saddam required a secular government and society in order to maintain the 'peace' that they had (through the use of force as well).

Saddam is an anti-cleric, Sunni socialist. bin Laden is a Sunni fundamentalist. They spent years hating people like each other. Bin Laden wanted Saddam killed because of his repression of Muslims in Iraq. It's such a ridiculous scenario that any serious person wouldn't put much credence into it. They had people get in contact on some lower levels years ago, but nothing came from it. Al-qaida and secular Iraq were not compatible at all. No way, no how. But, because us 'Merkans tend to be ignorant about anything outside of our own little world, a large segment of our society thinks one Arab looking guy is pretty much the same as another one. Oh shit, they're Arabs, they must be in cahoots! It's idiotic.

I think Williams could have some potential. He seems indoctrinated, but he also seems like a guy who would like to take a risk and have a great legacy at some point. Sometimes I think he might evolve into a real newshound at some point.

However, all of the 'rules' that are impeding actual journalism have been thrown out the window. I think many of them were waiting for their peers on TV to show a spine before they would, and this caused them all to grow spines at the same time :-)

8. I hardly ever watch tv news

usually I only check out Jim Lehrer on PBS from time to time, and all of the Sunday network shows. It seems like lately people have been seriously pissed off though. Seeing a WH totally blow it like they did in NOLA and seem indifferent to it, looks like it has taken the MSM by surprise a little bit. They almost can't grasp the insanity and callousness of it. What gets me is it isn't like Bush hasn't been dangerously inept for several years now. This is what it took to get these reporters to pull their heads out of their asses? That's a pretty big shame in and of itself.

These reporters are not stupid. Being in the MIDST of such human suffering and the indifferent attitude shown from our our would be leaders has been an eye opener for them.
I have screamed, cried, ranted and raved this past week while watching the TV.
Actually BEING there, and experiencing things they won't allow to be shown on TV is beyond my comprehension.

He's on record as saying that his hate mail is 50-50 and to his understanding this makes him right down the middle.

A person in his position that gives equal time to lies and smears in order to maintain a 50-50 approval rating is, in my opinion, expressing an opinion. In a very insidious way he is afraid of being labeled as having media bias so he biases his coverage. It is ludicrous.

He is not on record, as far as I know, as even mentioning the word TRUTH when discussing media bias. He has been totally snookered by the "liberal bias" canard and I hope this is an awakening for him.

Screw his 50-50 hate mail method of determining truth or bias.

He says he listens to Rush every day. What kind of person does that? Not someone with any sense of respect for humanity. He was in NOLA, witnessed some horrific things, and now has temporary religion, just like Geraldo did. Geraldo was great for about 120 seconds. Tonight he was kissing O'Liely butt.

In 2002, I heard this clown refer to Al Gore as "what passes for the loyal opposition." I know who Williams is and what he thinks.

He has no interest in equity or the exploration of new territory intellectually. He's just shocked. He'll get over it, especially when his masters give a good, hard pull on his chain.
