3. Oh, it gets better!

Turns out that perhaps the top 5 FEMA officials were not qualified.

Great catch by Debau2005!

a t.v. reporter, a Lt. Governor, a lobbyist, and a political advance man.

maybe Brownie's horse days ..... made him more qualified then these
fools.

1. Photo Op experts
Both Chief of Staff Patrick J. Rhode and Deputy Chief of Staff Brooks D. Altshuler worked in the WH "scripting" Bush appearances.

I do not have a link, but some Utah firemen were sent to help, but they were directed to Atlanta and into classes on things like sexual harassment. But 50 of those fireman were sent to Mississppi to walk behind Bush at the photo op.

2. Thanks!
*sigh* I continue to be amazed at the incompetence that is running the government! You would think that with all the political appointments made by a President during his term, that he would have at least a 1 in 100 chance of a somewhat competent appointment! I guess that is too much to ask from this administration.

4. John DiIulio must be feeling ill.
He pointed out at the very beginning of the Bush squat that PR is all these people do. Years later, people are dying because of the misplaced priorities and incompetence of these people who only care about image.

6. Why so surprised?
Why iseveryone so surprised at anything GW does? He's a dry drunk, if you ever watched and listened to him you'd know this. The real give away is his surprise that nobody understands that thing failed but that isn't supposed to have happened after all he had good intentions. One thing about active drunks and dry drunks is their lack of understanding of good intentions and behaviors. They don't understand that good intentions have to match their behaviors. If you ever been around a drunk you know they all have good intentions and mean well, they just can't understand that saying and doing something are two different things. Look at how GW gets confused because everythings falling apart around him, he fails to see that without action his good intentions mean nothing. Have you ever had a drunk that promised to do something then not do it? Then wonder what your angry about because they meant to do it but something or someone got them side tracked? Its never the drunks fault when something goes wrong, they are just victims in life. Thats GW.

7. The only qualifications: loyalty and the ability to create "spin"
The actual work of the agency is unimportant.

Perhaps that is why the upper layer of FEMA left in 2001; they realized what kind of people they were going to have to answer to.
