WOW! Douglas Brinkley On C-Span... Hopping Mad About Lack Of Assistance!

Right now on C-Span Douglas Brinkley is hitting fast and hard and telling it like it is.!

What a guy, he's mad and saying he doesn't care if people don't want to hear about the "blame game", says it's sorely needed! Not too kind to "the corrupt ones!"

3. When I watched he was blaming NO Officials and State Governor for all

the problems. He leans to the right and has a home in "Old NO's" which is dry and the folks are plotting how to raze the rest of the city to rebuild it without crime.

4. No. Say him on Imus yesterday and he was scathing toward AWOL/Moron

and crowd. He lives in NO and helped people in need. Said if a FEMA person came near anyone giving orders he just shoved them out of they way.

6. I always thought

Brinkley leaned rather to the left. He has written books on Rosa Parks, John Kerry. He was critical of some of the officials in NO but most of his anger was at FEMA and the Bush administration. Kept bringing up the fact that they had cut funds. Also mentioned that many of the poor have been largely ignored in this country. Also said that the people should be feeling empathy, and not be accusatory towards the victims. Unfortunately, many callers to Cspan on the Republican line seemed to want to blame the victims for their plight.
