Is this troubling for Democrats in 2006 or what? - Charlie Cook

Charlie Cook, Editor of the Cook Political Report:
On a micro-political level(referring to Katrina), does it enhance Democratic candidate recruiting for the House and Senate (although Senate recruiting season is almost over), does it demoralize Republicans and have an impact on their recruiting and encourage a few vacilating senior members to retire, does in enhance Democratic fundraising and cause some in the business community to begin covering their bets a bit? I think each of these is quite plausible. There are at least two dozen House districts where there are vulnerable Republican incumbents and no viable Democrats have emerged, despite very heavy recruiting efforts by the DCCC.

I remember reading somewhere that the head of the DCCC is a DLC'er. Is there any truth to that? Boy, I'm getting worried.

1. ROFL! LaHood's opponent in Illinois has ONE campaign issue
"I will vote to impeach Bush!"

The guy's a Democrat (don't recall his name). He's apparently ramping it up, though. It's in the Peoria area.

4. what Democratic party?
Who cares if most voters are pissed and want to fire the Republicans? Democrats are now "too pure" to form anything like GOPAC or organize a serious effort to recruit candidates to win back Congress! Why bother voting if the party we support no longer gives a shit? :nopity:
